I absolutely loved this place. I’ve known the owner, Amparo, for many years, and honestly, she’s incredible. She’s the owner of Food Passion, her catering business, and I always hire her when i want something good made from scratch… she has made for me , paellas, Mediterranean food, taco stations.. you name it she got it.
She comes to your house and cook everything right in front of you such an amazing experience. The flavors are always on point.
When I found out she opened her restaurant, The Mix by Food Passion, I didn’t think twice I had to go. And let me tell you… she has the best rotisserie chicken in Dallas. No exaggeration. It’s packed with flavor, super juicy, and it’s halal meat, which is a huge plus. She serves it with delicious sides you can choose from yuca, beans, rice, etc. Everything tastes homemade and full of love.
Now, let’s talk about desserts… Amparo has been making my birthday cakes for the past seven years. My go-to is her vanilla cake with arequipe perfection every single time. But today I tried her Dubai chocolate cake and WOW.. So rich, flavorful, so good… just amazing.
I’ll definitely be coming back again and again. If you’re looking for something flavorful, and comforting, this is the place. It’s a small, cozy spot, beautifully decorated, super clean, and it truly feels like home.
I 100% recommend it. ✨

The seasoning and cook on everything was very delicious!
The mashed potatoes might be some of the best I’ve had in a long time.
Everything was very good and it gives you a nice taste of Latin America.

Went for the first time this past weekend and really enjoyed it! The owners were so sweet & kind! The food was delicious. I ordered the half chicken with yuca and salad and my husband ordered an arepa. We finished it off with a passion fruit mousse. Everything we had was gluten free! And the chicken is halal! I recommend anyone looking for gluten free dishes, halal chicken or simply good food made by good people to stop by!

I just ate a life changing lunch from this place! I tried to go to Aldi, they didn’t have what I needed, line was long, I was deflated. I smelled a heavenly smell and I followed it. I walked in and was greeted by an absolute angel woman. She talked me through the menu, she recommended the steak salad. I got the chimichurri, the yucca and two empanadas. I went home and took the first bite of perfectly cooked, tender steak with a lil bit of yucca on the fork and could not help the “OMG” that flew out of my mouth. The salad was so fresh and perfectly balanced. Everything tasted homemade and lovingly prepared by your own mother, (if my mother knew how to cook). I had to call straight away when I finished and tell them how delicious it was. These empanadas are for my husband, but if he doesn’t come home soon I will eat them too.
Update: he arrived in time to save them from me, he says simply “10/10”.
I was not paid for this review, but I’ve had a lot of boring food in Dallas lately and I have to tell everyone about this meal

Yesterday, my brother invited me to eat at The Mix Restaurant, which was serving Lebanese food that day. The restaurant is located in a shopping center between Webb Chappel and Forest Lane in Dallas. The first things I noticed were the brightness, aesthetic appeal, and cleanliness of the place—all promising signs. To start, we ordered a seafood salad and a carpaccio, both Mediterranean dishes. The seafood salad, especially, was fresh, full of flavor, and evocative of the eastern coast of Venezuela, while the carpaccio was delicious. For Lebanese specialties, we had chicken kebab, stuffed grape leaves, baked kibbeh, and falafel with rice and Middle Eastern sauces. The highlight was the baked kibbeh—truly phenomenal with plain white rice. The experience was enhanced by the chef and her husband’s commitment to using top-quality ingredients, as well as their love and service. Prices are excellent. Bring your own wine and enjoy a pleasant atmosphere and outstanding food. Best of luck to Aurora and Pedro

When in NW Dallas, or even a trip to NW Dallas, this tucked away new spot is absolutely worth your time. Super lovely service, and amazing food – seriously, the chicken is fantastic. Support neighborhood restaurants! And this one does NOT disappoint.

I found The Mix by looking through google for a quick bite on the way to my son’s baseball game. I wasn’t sure if I was dressed appropriately for a nice meal here, but from the moment I walked in till the time I left, I was at home.
I met the owner Maria, and dined next to her husband (Pedro) and we talked about the history of the space and the lack of inventive and creative food around the area. We talked about their family’s heritage, the story of their menu items, and their personal journey and evolution in the food business. Like many before them, their restaurant began as “home cooks” for friends and family which evolved into a catering company, and now they have a brick and mortar (AND only a mile from my house!)
There were so many things I wanted to try but I settled on the rotisserie chicken with a small passion salad and yuca. The standout here was the chicken which was moist and flavorful – accompanied with a side of homemade Chimichurri sauce (outstanding, not as intense as I”m used to because it was more like a Chimichurri Aioli).
I TRULY hope the community can support this business and the lovely couple running it. I’ll be back with the family next time and hopefully we can order some more dishes to try out.
Welcome to the Neighborhood!
