We’ve now visited The Mill House in Lufkin twice, and both experiences were excellent!
On our first visit, the service was outstanding–our server was incredibly attentive, polite, and made us feel welcome right away. The restaurant itself is beautiful and very clean. We actually felt a little underdressed when we walked in, but they treated us like we fit right in, even though we showed up in sweats.
We started with the garlic dip, which was super garlicky, cheesy, and absolutely delicious–a must-try. My wife ordered the Mill House Pasta, which was rich, cheesy, and full of flavor, with perfectly cooked chicken and shrimp. I ordered a burger that was slightly on the dry side but still very tasty, and the truffle fries were fantastic–crispy, flavorful, and addictive.
Overall, it was easily a 4.5-star visit with great service, great food, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
And we did go back-one week later-this time sitting at the bar. We both ordered cocktails, and the drinks were excellent. I had two different styles of Old Fashioneds and really enjoyed both. My wife had two martinis and loved them.
For food, we tried the chicken Caesar wrap with fries, and my wife ordered the half sandwich and salad combo. The wrap was honestly one of the best I’ve ever had–the chicken had a great char, and there was plenty of dressing. My wife really enjoyed her BLT; it had the perfect amount of bacon and was put together really well.
At this point, I think we’ve found our new go-to spot in Downtown Lufkin. Can’t wait to go back!

We had a lovely experience here! Our server was so attentive and helpful with dietary restrictions! We sat in the cutest “U” shaped booth. I sat in a way where I could peek into the kitchen and it looked very clean.
My steak salad was good, the meat cooked well and my husband really liked his club sandwich.
The cocktail list was super unique and we both really liked our drinks. Well balanced and smooth. Yummy!
Will go again when in town!

Tried here today for something new, great atmosphere and service was good. I has the salmon with grilled broccoli and onions and had a side of truffle fries. Wife had the chicken Cesar wrap with sweet potato fries. We shared the fried brie bites with the raspberry jam. All of it was good and we will be back.

The mill house is not a kid family restaurant. Super duper nice. Smells so good. The wait staff is so sweet. We made a reservation and sat down Immediately. Love this place. I’ve been twice now and the food is excellent. The service is amazing as well. I love the chill but upscale vibe. Will definitely go back again soon. Can’t wait to try out the bar menu next time.

Every time I’ve gone to The Mill House since it was Restoration, it’s been one issue or another. They do not have the same menu for lunch and dinner. The dinner menu is very limited and frankly overpriced for what you get. The $45 “wagyu” steak tasted frozen and was not cooked properly. The drinks take FOREVER to get from the bar. They came at the same time as our food. One reservation “just wasn’t written down” though they did remember me making it 2 weeks prior. Now you can’t even get an employee on the phone to make a reservation. If you call, it’s a recording telling you to go on facebook. What business doesn’t answer the phone? Not everyone has facebook. We will not be going back.

I love the atmosphere at Restoration Bistro, it’s perfect for brunch, a date night, or even a wine night with the girls! Our service could’ve been a little better, but I think our waitress could’ve been new. The food and mimosas were great, I especially loved the baked brie plate. I would recommend and would definitely go back!
