We are proud to be the Guardians of a unique recipe. Carnitas were pronounced Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2010. This recipe has been passed through generation to generation as well known secret among the Purepechas in Michoacan. We were very lucky for receiving that recipe back in 2002 when we had several friends among those people. That is why our carnitas have no match. Even, were ranked as America’s #1 Carnitas by Best World’s Street Food & ustravelerscom. Besides, Best of Phoenix, in January of 2026 rank us as #1 place for Birria and Quesabirrias.

Another great Mark Wiens find! The carnitas were the best I’ve ever had. Super moist and flavourful. I’m usually not a fan of the skin but it compliments the meat so perfectly. Amazing, amazing meal!
They close at 6:00pm, so it was a bit of a rush get there after work, order, and eat.
The quesabirria was on the salty side – I’d pass on that one next time.
Tried to order a bunch of the shrimp dishes from the menu but none of it was available because the owner wasn’t working (per the server).
Definitely worth a visit! I’ll be coming back for the carnitas, for sure.

Follow their street signs, Pinche way and Chingate way and you’ll end up right at @themexicancorral @migrationology was not exaggerating when he said they have the absolute best carnitas in the valley. They’re full of flavor, tender and juicy. We ordered the 2lb which comes with rice, beans and tortillas. It was more than enough for two people. The Gordita was also delicious. In my opinion, carnitas were good but the older lady at the register wasn’t very welcoming. The man from the TikTok videos-with a serious face tapped on my to-go order and that was how he let me know that was my order. Long story short I felt that their customer service is not very good.

These carnitas arethe best I have found in the metro area so far. That is all I get so I can’t really speak too any of their menu options. I pound carnitas that is what I am there for. Place is a little small so if it is busy you may want to get it to go and shame eat in your car. It’s fine that area has seen worse things done in a car I am sure.

The carnitas plate was good, but the cueritos to meat ratio was bit too much. wish it had more meat and less cueritos. The quesa birria tacos flavor was not good. The birria had a weird flavor and the cheese was either going bad or they used extra sharp cheese… just stick to the carnitas. The $5 horchata was very powdery.

First time but not my last. Food is brought out hot, fresh and taste like authentic Mexican food. Price is fair, clean small restaurant. Had to taste Birria tacos and consume is perfect. Second the pork tacos are soo good. Worth the drive. Portions are are more than expected .

Good Quality food, loved it . Hosts checks up on us and is very friendly. She is carrying but i understand why because of crackheads around here. The table we did sit wasn’t sturdy kept tilting when leaning on it .
