I had the camareo Mozambique (shrimp, a spicy sauce, rice, fries… listed as a Portuguese specialty). The food was perfectly prepared and presented, and was spicy enough to make it authentic and enjoyable, while not overpowering. I added a key lime tart for dessert: artfully presented and perfect-pucker taste.
Service was super friendly and highly efficient. This isn’t fine dining, so I didn’t expect that route of service. But I couldn’t ask for a better server.
Atmosphere, as I said, is casual… think more like a diner than a restaurant. But they do have a service bar, and I watched the bartender masterfully prepare an array of drinks.
All in all it was an excellent experience, and a reasonable price too. Kudos!

Old school setting, amazing food. I love this classic restaurant. They serve delicious seafood with a smile. I stopped in for some “steamers’ and was so happy. The service is incredible. The steamers were perfectly done, and ample amount of plump delicious clams

Seafood foodie snob here & long-time resident on the Cape. OK, you think you’ve visited all the great restaurants in this area over the years, as we have, but last night, our local friends re-introduced us to the Mayflower. Oh my! Do not pass this restaurant by! This is an oldie but goodie right in the heart of P’town. You come here for the huge variety of food at fair prices, the warmth of the staff and owner Mike, and the ambience of bygone years. Those lucky enough to snag a window seat will surely be entertained by all the foot traffic on Commercial Street.
Now to the seafood on our table: we had the spaghetti with clams; the frutti di mare, a seafood dish in a delicious tomato-based sauce with a bit of a bite; a (lightly) fried sea scallops with scallops fresh off the boat; and fresh haddock with shrimp & scallops stuffing!! I got to taste every dish and am ready to return to have the other dishes I didn’t choose. Yes, the food was that delicious and fresh-tasting! We had a wonderful time, assisted by our fun and helpful waitstaff, Larasa. Thank you to all the hardworking staff there whose friendliness is reflected by the owner Mike!

Finally made it to The Mayflower, and it’s such a fun experience. The staff is warm and kind, and the ambiance is the perfect amount of trapped in time. Be prepared as the menu can be overwhelming, but we enjoyed our choices. We had been told not to miss the garlic bread, and it was HUGE. My dining partner went with the ritz cracker stuffed fish, which he enjoyed. He wished he’d gotten a baked potato vs the rice pilaf. I did the chicken croquettes, which were very satisfying and homey. I do wish there had been more vegetable side options. I would definitely recommend and go back.

Today my friend and I went there for a quick lunch. The food was great, but even greater was our server Emi. He kept our drinks full and was very kind! Definitely the type of server we always want in a restaurant!
P.S.Thanks for accepting our 1’s too

Super fresh seafood. Very reasonable prices. Cafe /diner style seating. Great for families & people who love great seafood. Plenty of variety on the menu with a Portuguese flair. They do not take reservations so be prepared to wait 15-20 minutes.

My husband and I got married in Provincetown this past summer and Michael from the Mayflower was SO wonderful. We contacted him and the restaurant in advance since there would be fourteen of us and when we arrived he had decorated tables for us with balloons and flowers, made homemade desserts (he also offered to bake us a cake!), and bought and gifted us champagne flutes. It was so kind and truly made our day. The food was delicious and Lisa our waitress was also wonderful. The location was perfect as it was right next to the docks and the sailboat we were getting married on. Both of our families are still talking about how great everything was. We are already planning on coming back for our anniversary next year.
Thanks, Michael & Lisa!! -The Pfeiffers

A group of us from Florida visited The Mayflower and we were not disappointed. The food was outstanding and the service was phenomenal. I was so impressed with how personal Michael the owner was. Larasa was a remarkable waitress. She was friendly and attentive. She chatted with us and made us all feel like family. It was a wonderful experience and I highly recommend the Mayflower if you are ever in this neck of the woods.

Food was excellent, period. My son’s burger got a perfectly cooked beef patty, medium rare. The lobster, clams, and shrimps were cooked just right. Highly recommend you to give it a try as they have a big diversified menu!

We came here for lunch and if you really like comfort foods this is your place. Good service and freshly prepared entrees. Huge menu of various cuisines. I kind of see it as a restaurant of many different immigrants food. If you’re in town give them a try.
I’ve only been here once and like many places some people have favorites, mine would be the fried clam strips. Bathrooms were super clean and staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Reasonable prices too.
We will definitely be back.
