This Mexican-style heladería stands out with its array of distinctive ice cream flavors and an impressive collection of candies not commonly available in the US. My main reservation was the strict ‘no sample’ policy. While I understand the concern about misuse, offering a limited number of samples, perhaps three per customer, would greatly enhance the experience by allowing patrons to confidently explore the unique offerings.

Great ice cream. Great selection. Terrible employee/owner. Screamed at my 3 year old nephew and got aggressive when asked to chill out. Won’t be giving them business anymore or recommending to my friends. As much as i love supporting local, I do not support abusive men. Neither should you.

I will not be supporting any business that yells at toddlers for any reason. My 2 yo nephew grabbed a little $2.50 toy and the shopkeeper yelled at him thinking he was trying to steal it. It’s unfortunate for the owner that he refused to acknowledge wrongdoing and apologize for yelling at a child. The father of the child he yelled at is a beloved figure in this community who people listen to. Nobody we tell about this will be supporting a business that treats children poorly. I don’t get why a person would open up an ice cream shop in San Luis and then be mean to kids.

Great flavors that are generally not available at other ice cream shops in town. Was happy to see and purchase the mamey sapote! Best is making your own with favorite flavors, second is now The Mayan, third is Costco if it’s vanilla (Humboldt Cramery), 4th is Thriftys, 5th McConnells, all the rest if you have no choice and have money!

Amazing flavors and love that they have both scoopable ice cream as well as bars. We got the chocolate chip which had a killer vanilla flavor. Service was just ok and atmosphere felt a little dark and gloomy for an ice cream shop. How about some fun music and more colors!

This is a fantastic ice cream shop! There are lots of really unique options. I had burnt milk, my husband had strawberry and cream, my kiddo got passion fruit in a waffle cone. All of them were delicious. The fruit options are obviously made with real fruit puree; the flavor is intense and natural. The service was wonderful and friendly. I’m so glad we tried it. I will definitely be back soon.
