The best pancakes!
I loved the untouched 45 year old atmosphere. I am here for the great breakfast, friendly service and great conversation with the owners and locals.
Loved mixing with people from the neighborhood. No one is stuffy or pretentious. You can join in conversation with others in the establishment.
The food is hot, delicious and a great price. This is a place only the locals know about. And they’ve been serving locals for 45 years.

We got an absolutely delicious breakfast here. Service was great and timely and the servings are huge! Pancakes are as big as the plate. I think a little cleaning would do the place some good, but we would absolutely stop here again.

The food was outstanding. The portions are large and the price was low. Unfortunately, it wasn’t good enough to justify the hour wait time from when we ordered the food until we received our meals. It’s a good thing we didn’t have somewhere to go right afterwards.
The bill seamed a little higher than expected based on what we ordered, but at that point, I was more interested in going about the day than I was in arguing, so I just paid.

Stopped in while the wife and I were away for the weekend and at first the place does look really run down. However the food was pretty good. My wife had eggs benedict and said they were the best she ever ate. I agree they tasted really good and they use a thin ham that make them even better. The home fries were really good as well. I had the country fried state and it was pretty bland. The gravy was good but the steak was small, thin and a bit flavorless. My eggs were good, the pancakes are huge and tasted pretty good. Biggest plus was the prices. Everything was very cheap so it made up for a lot.
All this place needs is some updating to freshen it up. Try them.

Hidden little gem! The East Mauch Chunk Eatery is a friendly and diverse little eatery that boasts delicious breakfasts. This was our first visit and definitely not our last! Our eggs and omelette were cooked perfectly, the chicken fried steak was crunch yet tender and moist, the sausage gravy is homemade, and the fried potatoes the best I’ve ever had. The coffee was excellent!!
The atmosphere is welcoming, warm and relaxing. The owners and the locals treat you just like family. This is a must stop at and dine eatery if you are in the area.
I did see a bad review about closing the door. I’m sorry the customer felt as if they were being singled out. I can assure you that is not what we saw or felt while we were visiting. Everyone was welcome and treated like family.

The food here is delicious and the people are very nice and respectful. I stop here every time I work in the area or travel through. This will definitely be my spot to stop and eat from now own.

We stopped here before heading to Jim Thorpe (which, by the way, was already packed at 10 a.m. — no parking anywhere!). The restaurant itself is small and nothing fancy, but it has such a warm and welcoming vibe. There were only two people running the place — taking orders and serving — so the food took a little longer than usual, but it was absolutely worth the wait.
I ordered the 222: 2 pancakes, 2 bacon strips, 2 sausage patties, and eggs. The pancakes were ginormous — literally the size of the plate — thick, fluffy, and delicious. Honestly, some of the best pancakes I’ve ever had, and I know my pancakes! The portions were very generous, and everything was cooked just right.
What stood out the most was how kind everyone was — both the staff and even the other customers. Coming from Baltimore, we’re not used to that level of friendliness, and it really made the meal even better.
So if you go, don’t expect anything fancy — just really good comfort food, big portions, and a genuinely nice atmosphere. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone passing through or visiting the area!
