The food was amazingly delicious. Especially sushi and nigiri! Listening jazz at the same time makes the experience unforgettable. This Jazz and sushi concept I liked the most ☺️ The stuff was also very friendly. Only drawback is that we need to leave around 20:30 as they are getting the second round of tables but they communicated that well in advance! Highly recommended!

I am so glad a friend brought me here. We walked in to amazing live music by Zahili G. The drinks were good and the food was great! Kudos to the chef for the cranberry salmon. The bartender was quick, professional, and pleasant to chat with. I’ll definitely go back whenever I’m in town.

I left feeling really confused about this place because it didn’t seem to know what it wanted to be. The restaurant has three completely different rooms—one with live jazz, another with random décor—and the whole vibe felt mismatched.

The menu was just as all over the place: one side was sushi rolls, the other side Thai and Chinese dishes. We ordered the chicken satay with Thai flavors and a couple of rolls. The food was solidly mediocre, nothing memorable, and the rolls were on the pricier side.

It was pretty busy on a Friday night, but I honestly don’t understand the hype—maybe people come for the sushi boat? I’m not sure. I don’t think I’d go back.

Great atmosphere, good jazz quartet, and good food … abysmal inattentive service … I shouldn’t have to go to the bar to ask for a bottle of soy sauce after my sushi was brought without it

Visited this jazz and Asian restaurant for first time. Food was great with a wide selections of sushi, soups, and fusion dishes. The service was fast and very effective. The main addition was the four piece local jazz band. All four musicians were enjoyable to listen to and played a wide array of selections and styles.
Next time in Boston I will try to visit the Mad Monkfish again.
Enjoyed the wide mix of people. It’s great how music bring people together.

I went for their jazz + dinner evening and enjoyed it very much. The music was lovely. The sound was at the volume that was allowing you to have a conversation at the table – but it was also a “statement show” enough that if you come primarily for music, you’ll IMO also enjoy. The service was swift and attentive even though they obviously had a few dozen people to be served at once. Solid food.

I’m giving a one-star because we visited for the jazz. Now the sushi was cool, but let’s be clear; whatever live set they had going was NOT jazz. We had to leave because it sounded so bad–like kids playing with instruments. The whole thing was a joke, especially the drummer.

Came here for my birthday dinner on 1/16 and we had such a great time. The restaurant was very accommodating since we were a big group. We liked how the diverse the menu was across different Asian cuisines. The jazz band was also amazing.

Excellent spot for American style sushi with some classics with some spunky creative rolls. Everything is presented with a little bit of pizzazz.
A little pricey for what it is. But not surprised since it’s in Cambridge. Good for a date night or a nice casual outing. Would recommend trying once or twice.
They do live jazz on the side and you can hear a tiny bit of it in the other dining section.

Scallion pancakes and sushi were very good. Service was also very good. My only criticism is the price is a little high. I’ve had sushi that was just as good for cheaper. However, it is located in a prime spot on Mass Ave in Cambridge- so I expected it to be pricey.
