Walking into St Johns River State College, you might think that a counter service restaurant located on a college campus wouldn’t be good. You would be wrong. This is a surprisingly great place! Stopped in on my way to Gainesville because I wanted to try their basil tomato grilled cheese.

Delicious well prepared food , reasonable prices, and good customer service. I wish they opened earlier some mornings due to my work hours I’m rarely able to stop in. This is a great hidden gem of an eatery.

The Lunchbox is a secret place, tucked away inside the St. Johns River State College located in Palatka. They have delicious ceasar chicken salad wraps and mushroom Swiss burgers. Their fries are like shoestring fries, made fresh with each order. Kelly makes some of the best sweet tea too! This hidden gem stays in my lunch rotation. The line only gets long when classes let out, but service is quick! There’s a nearby pool table if you want to get in a game while you are there. It’s a solid choice for lunch if you like supporting a small business.
