I recently hosted my late mother’s celebration of life here & could not have been more pleased with every aspect of the experience. From the planning w/Oscar (who is absolutely amazing), to the food, the staff, the atmosphere…everyone was so accommodating & everything was superb! We had a large group of 25 & it was a perfect evening, filled with laughter and wonderful memories of my mother. Thank so much to everyone at The Pirates Cove who played a role in making it so special.

We have a group of 9 friends that go out to dinner and listen to live music weekly. Tonight one of our people was celebrating a birthday and we decided to go to Pirates Cove for dinner and to check out the band Justified. One of our group is an excellent cook and baker. She made homemade fruit tarts with homemade lemon curd and fresh fruit on a buttery crust. Our baker even brought plastic plates. We order apps and drinks. When we were ordering our meals the server said that the manger told her to make sure to tell us that if anyone ate the fruit tarts that our friend brought that we would be charged a cake fee of $2.50 per person. We said that we did not have a cake that needed to be cut or served by the staff. We had fruit tarts and brought our own plates. The server said sorry, it’s not my rules, that is what she was told. We certainly understand that, if they had to cut and serve, and plate the dessert we would be charged. But, really, charging us for doing absolutely nothing. We are our meals and listened to the band for a few hours. When leaving the baker gave 5 extra fruit tarts to the waitress and said for her to share with the rest of the staff. Needless to say the manager who insisted we pay a per person cake fee dove right into the amazing fruit tarts. I hope the manager enjoyed it. Because our group of 9 friends all said we would NEVER RETURN to Pirates Cove after being charged the cake fee that no staff had to serve or plate. We as a group spend over $1,000 ever time we go out. Not a penny will ever go to Pirates Cove again.

We dined at this restaurant with a group of friends. For appetizers my bride had the mussels and I had the French pinion soup. For our entrees, I had the seafood platter, my bride had the shrimp scampi. Finally for dessert we shared a slice of the caramel cheesecake.
THE ATMOSPHERE:
The restaurant is on the water with bar seating and white cloth table dining in several rooms. If you’re looking for seaside dining Pirates Cove will suite you fine.
THE FOOD:
Our appetizers… My French onion soup was made like a traditional French onion soup with plenty of melted cheese and oodles of onions. There were plenty of mussels bathed in a delicious white wine and butter base for my brides mussels appetizer.
Our entrees… My seafood platter featured a small serving of white fish, which was nice and juicy, two small stuffed shrimp, which were quite tasty, two scallops made properly (not under cooked and slimy or overcooked and rubbery). My brides shrimp scampi featured 5 small shrimp over a bed of linguine. The dish was well made with hints of garlic and butter in the balanced cream sauce. The dessert:
Our caramel cheesecake dessert was creamy and rich.
THE SERVICE:
It’s always a challenge for a server to serve large parties, but our server did great. Delivered our drinks in a timely fashion watched over us for any needed refills and clearly explained any questions we had.
THE BOTTOM LINE:
As always with my reviews, the “customer so what” would I return is complicated for the Pirates Cove. My answer… probably not. Why not if the food was prepared properly, the ambiance was fitting for a seafood restaurant and the service was fine? The answer lies in serving size, price and add on charges.
I don’t mind paying premium prices for a premium meal but Pirates Cove charged $40 for a seafood platter that should more realistically be called a seafood sampling. At $36 My wife’s shrimp scampi should have featured large shrimp instead of the small shrimp she received. And, finally, the add on prices which included a 3% service charge and a whopping 21% tip. I don’t mind tipping heavily for good service and our server would have probably gotten 25% if it was my choice. However, I HATE having a restaurant dictate what I’ll tip! I understand mandatory tipping for a large party but I’ve never seen it set at 21%! As for the service charge, it was placed on every bill whether you paid with a credit card or not. One of my guests asked if that was a credit card fee (which I hate as well) and was told if he paid cash, our servers would take that fee off. How many people didn’t know enough to ask that question, and end up paying that fee when paying with cash?? I hate underhanded trickery like that and discourage it by not returning.
In summary you’ll have to ask yourself before dining at Pirates Cove, is the food, ambiance and service quality worth the rest? If it is, enjoy. As for me, I’ll skip it. There are too many other great seafood places that will provide quality dining, great service and atmosphere without the unwelcome luggage included.

Glad I came across this spot, it has an awesome little boutique resort attached to it. The grounds are beautiful and properly maintained. The other day was the first time I’ve eaten at the restaurant as an adult and I was blown away! My aunt and I ordered a pizza with onions and sausage (medium sized 8 slice pie) and an order of doz. Wine/Butter soaked clams to split, along with 4 happy hour cocktails total was $75! Foood was amazing service was fast server was awesome and knowledgeable. Great spot great views

Went for the boat parade and our reservation specifically stated outside seating. When we got there we were placed inside at table 32 which was a 4 top. Mind you two 6 tables were set with menus and silverware our entire stay unsat stating they had reservations. You hold reservations for 2 hours? Kinda odd. So me and all of the people in the loft area wanted to see the boat parade (which is what we came there for) and opened up the blind slats (infront of the two tables that have been unoccupied with no reservation for 2 hours.) Kids. People in wheelchairs all pulled up to the window to watch the 10 minute drive by parade. Being listed as a GREAT viewing area the management came around and moved everyone back to their tables closing the slats for the “tables that might need to be sat.” Coming from hospitality my whole life you dont falsely advertise a viewing area if there isn’t one. And what place holds tables for 2 hours? Not sure id “view” anything here in the future. Keep an eye out for false information and they don’t honor your reservation. Instead they overbook and plop ya anywhere. Cheers!

We visited Pirates Loft in Stuart for a Mother’s Day celebration with a large group, and unfortunately, the experience fell short of expectations. While the setting is beautiful and full of potential, the service and food left us thoroughly disappointed. Our main server was inattentive and seemed disinterested from the start.
Even more disappointing was the food. I ordered a buffalo chicken wrap that barely had any chicken in it—when I brought it up, I was simply offered two chicken strips on the side which were the equivalent of what was inside it. My girlfriend ordered the lobster risotto, which had hardly any lobster in it. If you’re ordering here stick to the bar menu and get a hamburger or mahi sandwhich!

Busy, noisy restaurant on the dock. Hard working wait staff. Good food and service. Live entertainment. My only complaint would be the miniscule serving of coleslaw. The fish had a nice, light, crispy batter; not greasy.

This review is for the upstairs bar. Great vibe. Fun crowd but not loud. The bartenders are charming. The food is very respectable for a water front restaurant. We drop by once a week. High recommend. The wait staff at the downstairs bar is terrible.
