Great place in a great location. It’s located in an area with other food options so you’re not limited to one choice. Service here is a walk up order and they bring you the food. The staff was very friendly. I went there to try the chicken with Mac n cheese. The chicken was good and the Mac n Cheese was OK. If you cut up the chicken and mix it all together it’s better but the Mac by itself is mediocre. Chicken wings are standard with good meat on the bones. Sandwiches were fresh tasting. The chicken and waffles by far were the best dish we ordered. The chicken strips overall are really good and this place is definitely worth a try.

I was surprised that this was not a full-service restaurant, but that was on me for not doing my research before we came. This is one of many small restaurants surrounding a small outdoor courtyard. There are tables outside shared by all restaurants and a few inside. The seating inside was not very comfortable. You order and pay at the counter and then sit down; they bring your food out to you. Note that if you have many people in your party, the food is brought out as it’s ready, and not all at once.
The food was delicious. The fried chicken was juicy and tender, and the menu had just enough variety to keep everyone happy. My teenagers loved the chicken and waffles, although they both would have loved an option to get more waffles and half the amount of chicken. Maybe a menu twist that could be offered? The local chicken sandwich was flavorful, and they gave just the right amount of fries–not too many and not too few.
We are not huge fans of this type of atmosphere. If we’re going to pay that much for a meal, we’d like to be comfortable. If we come back, it will likely be for takeout so that we can enjoy the wonderful food comfortably at home. However, I know there are many people who enjoy this vibe, so I didn’t rate down on my overall rating based on the atmosphere.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Local Hen in Oviedo, and I must say, it was a fantastic experience! The chicken pesto panini was absolutely amazing—perfectly balanced with flavors that left me wanting more.
The service was equally impressive. Carissa was extremely attentive and friendly, ensuring that my dining experience was enjoyable from start to finish. The owner was also very sweet and made me feel right at home, which added a personal touch to the visit.
Overall, I can’t recommend The Local Hen enough! I will definitely be back for more delicious food and the warm, welcoming atmosphere.

I had an amazing experience – from the food, to the customer service, it was great! The hot chicken with mac and cheese was delicious, and the chicken & waffles was the perfect combo of salty and sweet. Oh, not to mention BOGO on wine on Wednesdays! Can’t wait to go again ♥️.

The chicken and waffles an easy 8/10.
We did have an issue with our meal, no fault of the cook, and the waitress Paulina and cook/chef Javes are absolutely amazing.

Great food at The Local Hen! The entire meal was amazing! The pulled pork sliders were tangy and delicious, and the chicken cheese fries were a huge portion and the perfect blend of cheese, crispy and savory. Service was great and atmosphere was delightful. Great music pumping all night. 10/10 highly recommend.

Stopped by Oviedo and figured we would give this place a try. To be honest nothing really stood out about our experience. I’m not sure if their kitchen was short staffed, but our food came out one plate at a time with 5 – 10 minutes between. The food was good, it wasn’t something that I will rush back to eat. My experience was below average, but give it a try and see if you enjoy it.

We can’t say enough about our dining experience at The Local Hen. The food was incredible and the service from Polina was exceptional.
We had the Cuban sandwich with tostones and they were delicious. Their homemade cilantro was exceptional. The ribs and wing appetizer was great and they were juicy and full of flavor.
It was so nice to be able to dine with my partner while our kids could walk around and play. The live music was an added bonus.
We cannot wait to go back.

The Food Factory in Oviedo is a great place to relax, enjoy some music and outdoor entertaining while enjoying good food and libations. We checked out The Local Hen and it did not disappoint. I had chicken ‘n waffles and hubby had the steak, egg and cheese breakfast sandwich. Both were DIVINE! Also had to try the Strawberry sangria while listening to the DJ (it was Sunday, y’all) under the large wraparound covered patio. Will definitely go back next time we’re in the area.
