Why it’s a must-visit:
• Superior Service: From the moment you walk through the door, you’re treated like family. The staff is attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and genuinely seems happy to be there. It’s rare to find this level of hospitality where every detail is anticipated before you even have to ask.
• The Bread Pudding: You cannot leave without trying this. I’ll go out on a limb and say it is comfortably the best Bread Pudding in the Central Valley. It’s perfectly decadent—warm, rich, and has that ideal balance of texture that most places miss. It is worth the trip alone!
• Atmosphere: The vibe is welcoming and polished, making it perfect for both a casual weeknight dinner or a special celebration.
If you’re looking for high-quality food paired with service that actually makes you feel valued, do yourself a favor and head to The Local. Just make sure you save room for dessert!
We went with the cheese and meat board first and it was pretty good. Different plates and the skirt steak with green sauce was well made.
Overall a really nice place with a great vibe and decent tasteful food.

Quiet nice location in old town Clovis. First impression was disappointing when we ordered hummus with tapenade and vegetables, carrots were old and dry and cucumber too, hummus wasn’t in the best shape either.
Then we got the BLTA and the chicken tenders, they were really really good, the chicken tenders were freshly made and the batter was tasty and fried greatly. The BLTA: right amount of everything with those crispy crazy bacon, I loved it.
NB : my 3 stars rating is absolutely not a negative, we had a nice experience!!!
Service was great. Friendly, fast and they checked up on us consistently. They even let a gentleman come in to check out what was being served on the buffet table before deciding to dine. I thought that was nice since it’s $25 per person. The place was nice and clean. They have patio seating in the front and back of the restaurant as well.
They make eggs Benedict upon request which our server let us know since it’s not at the buffet table or a sign letting us know it was even an option. Today they had waffles, french toast, cinnamon rolls, fruit, bacon, sausage, potatoes, biscuits & gravy, quiche, salad with vinaigrette, mushrooms & asparagus, Mac N Cheese, Tri Tip & rice pilaf.
The food tasted great and is good quality, totally worth $25 per person. I am someone who can’t make up their mind because I want to eat a little bit of everything so a brunch buffet is perfect for me. Also, breakfast is my favorite meal and I don’t mind paying good money for good food. If you compare to Denny’s and IHOP’s prices, you’re already paying more than half to what you’re going to pay at The Local and The Local has better food and service in my opinion. And, why not help a local establishment rather than a chain restaurant? If you’re wondering where else I’ve eaten for my local breakfast comparison? I shall tell you…Red Apple Cafe, Fresno Breakfast House, Benediction, Quail State, Huckleberry’s just to name a few. The Local is a legit place for brunch and I definitely recommend it. I’m excited to return to try their dinner menu as well.
