The Lobster is a historic landmark located on Ocean Avenue in Santa Monica, CA, right next to the entrance of the World-Famous Santa Monica Pier. The Lobster has been serving up delicious seafood to guests for nearly 100 years! For the past two decades, we’ve specialized in Grilled Maine Lobster & the seasonal California Spiny Lobster. Our kitchen is led by Celebrity Chef Govind Armstrong. Along with lobster, we feature seasonal dishes and locally-sourced seafood entrees. Let’s be honest, it’s super pricey, but also extravagant and wonderful. Great service, extraordinary food, and assuming you sit where you can see the beach, a great view! Went there for my birthday and would do it again. If you’re like me, you will want to donate to a charity after you eat there, just to help yourself feel better for spending so much on the food. But it would be worth it!

My 4th trip here, probably my last. Something has changed here, flavors aren’t the same, service wasn’t that great. They charge you for a 3 lb lobster at $44 a lb, they just take the average , seems sketchy to me. The pasta that came with my lobster was really bad. I also don’t like that they automatically add a 20% tip for a group of 6, I know house rules but I should decide what I tip, waitress didn’t deserve $120, she didn’t even bring our food out and it was difficult getting her to the table. Thanks for the memories but time to find a different spot when I visit the area.

As part of a whirlwind trip to the end of Route 66 and Santa Monica Pier, my lovely bride and I snuck into The Lobster. The valet parking was very easy and a quick trip upstairs took us to an amazing midday meal. We were greeted immediately and seated near the windows looking out over the beach and the ocean! The view was amazing and the food and service were excellent! Honestly, we were looking for a place to park close to the pier, little did we realize what was next! The food, the view, and a quick walk down to the pier to grab an ice cream for dessert and a t-shirt from the shack at the end of Route 66!

Went here for my birthday today and I loved everything about this place ! Quick and efficient people and very friendly I felt welcomed ! The food was great but if you’re going to come here make sure that you have money lol it’s a little expensive but I can see why totally worth it ! Very bad service, you can never find your waitress, even if you raise your hand for fifteen minutes, she will ignore you. Since the steak was so bitter, we told her we wanted a glass of water, but she didn’t give us one for twenty minutes. She’s definitely racist because we’re Asian. Her name is Courtney, by the way. But we gave her a tip anyway .And their food was terrible, all the vegetarian dishes were overcooked and black! The noodles are so hard, it’s like they haven’t been cooked! The steak is bitter! The cocktails were terrible, too. We ordered two and only had one sip! I can’t recommend this restaurant. It’s the worst restaurant I’ve ever eaten in LA! If I could give zero stars, I would never give one star.

I came here for a birthday dinner and had an amazing time. The food was amazing and the staff were so kind and caring throughout the time I was there. When I called to make a reservation, I had spoken to one of their hostesses Chloe who was so helpful and patient with me. The moment I arrived, Chloe was so polite and welcoming as she helped seat my family and I. We got an ocean view and it was such a beautiful evening. I immediately had positive experience and will definitely be coming in more.
