Food was very good. Portions were just right. We tried the sweet and spicy shrimp, strawberry pecan spinach salad, chicken Marsala and espresso steak sandwich.
Service was friendly and efficient.
Lovely main room. The music seemed a little loud but it may have been because we were early and there weren’t many people in the main room yet.
Very nice first night in Lewisburg.
The atmosphere of the restaurant itself is rustic/ speakeasy kind of energy. It’s a smaller spot, but it makes it feel homey. The owner was walking around checking on tables and I thought that was adorable!
We started with the calamari which was some of the best I’d ever have; the squid wasn’t rubbery and it was perfectly crunchy. For the main entree I ordered the salmon (cold smoked with honey and brown sugar and then baked!) with risotto and my husband ordered the sea bass with Brussel sprouts. He was so impressed he actually ordered a SECOND entree; the special which was a red fish and equally as delicious.
The star of the show for me was dessert. We ordered the banana crème brûlée cheesecake, which I’m sure will end up on a regular rotation for my pregnancy cravings. It is absolutely worth driving 8 hours from NJ for!
Overall we are incredibly happy with every aspect of this restaurant. I hope the owners know just how amazing their place is, and how equally amazing their staff is.
The menu was creative and fun, and I enjoyed trying new dishes like goat cheese ice cream and lightly glazed opah. Plates were clearly well thought out and balanced. If I could offer one small, constructive note, it would be that the fish and chicken might benefit from just a touch more time to ensure even cooking throughout. Everything was delicious though, and my husband appreciated the thoughtfully curated cocktail menu.
We also had the pleasure of meeting the owner, who made us feel like family. We would absolutely go out of our way to return.
It was a little bit loud for an early dinner, but that may have been because there was a large group of adults having some type of party or celebration. I’m not sure if it is that loud on a regular evening, but that is why I deducted a star for the atmosphere rating.
