Spent almost a week at the DoubleTree.
Had breakfast and dinner at The Little Sparo multiple times.
Breakfast is pricier then surrounding restaurants. Dinner price was average.
Food was always good with excellent service.
Staff are top-notch.
It definitely has a lovely harbor view.
It’s now a must stop when I’m in town.

The Little Sparo is connected to the Doubletree hotel. We were staying there and as a Hilton Honors Gold, we received complementary breakfast for the whole family for each day we stayed.
The weekend hours for brunch are 8am-2pm.
We took advantage of these hours by eating brunch here well past 12:30pm.
The food is fine. Nothing amazing but nothing disgusting either. The limited selection on the menu may be a problem for longer stays. We stayed here for three days and it felt like there was nothing else to choose on the third day.

What a wonderful experience! This was my first time at the Little Sparo and it will certainly not be the last. The service was exceptional and the food itself was phenomenal! 10/10 would recommend the pasta to anyone wanting to try it. Thank you for a great evening!

The restaurant had a cozy vibe with soft lighting and aesthetic decor. I went with a surpise mocktail which was so good, definitely a must try. My husband got a lemongrass italian drink. We started with sourdough bread served with garlic butter that was super fresh and olive oil. The carrot risotto was delicious, and then we went with the good old margerita pizza which had fresh tomato, basil and mozzarella. Overall an amazing dining experience.

Deliciously wonderful. Recommended by a friend, we are so glad we went to dinner there! The staff were incredibly nice & the drinks from the bar were great! We ordered the salmon dish and the mushroom pasta. Both were terrific. To round it out, we got the tiramisu for dessert. It was a bit pricey for the dinner but not unexpected based on the type of gourmet food and drink. If you have a special event or want to enjoy a fabulous meal, head over to the little sparo! Make reservations, it will go smoother 😉

Amazing place!
The service was excellent as well. I tried the Rigatoni con Pollo and it was absolutely delicious. I also had the Margherita Pizza — the flavor was great, though it was a little soft in the middle.

We have been there before and enjoyed the experience. This time we ordered something different….my steak dinner was very disappointing and the pizza had a gross taste to it….and, It was quite loud. Perhaps they were understaffed. On a good note though, the view is amazing!

Best restaurant we ate at in St. John’s! Pasta was the best I’ve had outside of Italy, and the pizza was fantastic too. We ate here twice on our trip, once inside the restaurant (beautiful view and great service) and once as room service. Service was fast and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. Lots of cocktails and mocktail options as well. We loved the reaper Italian soda! Highly recommend!

Perfect place for an engagement. My fiancé chose Little Sparro as the place to propose to me. He reached out to management ahead of time to rent the space for an hour for a private proposal, followed by amazing dinner and drinks. After that first hour the place filled up quick, so I definitely recommend making a reservation. Fabio (manager) was so accommodating and took such good care of us. From quick response times, to amazing service, delicious food and drinks, stunning views and romantic vibes, Little Sparro checks all the right boxes. Definitely a 5 star dining experience. Highly recommend. Thank you Fabio for one of the best nights of our lives!

UPDATE: In response to the restaurant Response… those tables were entirely empty for the entire duration of my time at the restaurant. I was able to hear the new arrivals that got seated anywhere else in the restaurant and the couple of tables that did get seated in the 45 minutes I was there… didn’t have reservations. So the photos of the tables attached were all empty the entire time I was there.
I was staying at the hotel while in the area on business. I came down and asked for a table and asked if it was possible to sit by the window. The restaurant was half empty. I was told I could only sit at the bar or a table that was beside the kitchen. There were several tables for two. Obviously, because I was only one person that wasn’t acceptable. The last photo was where I was hidden away. I guess as a single diner… there is no right to the view.
Since this restaurant is attached to a hotel… I think it is shameful. I have several more nights in town but won’t be back. The food was pricey and underwhelming. Try elsewhere.
