Wow what a gem by the coast! We took our dog Martha here and we had one gorgeous fish and chips and one really special vegan fish and chips! It really exceeded all our expectations. The service was phenomenal, quick and the food was perfect. We had just got married in the Isle of Wight and stopped off on our way home, what a treat to have found the lighthouse as the cherry on top of our trip!

We celebrated our daughter’s birthday here this evening and the lighthouse truly made it a magnificent experience. The food and atmosphere was lovely and the staff especially Heidi went above and beyond to ensure we all had a lovely time. Our children especially were treated so kindly and we really appreciated the professional yet fun and passionate care the staff delivered. The food was delicious and between us all we ordered a variety of the menu and can assuredly say nothing disappointed. The location is really lovely and tastefully decorated. Bathrooms and restaurant itself very clean and an excellent choice of drinks available. We would recommend to families, couples alike it caters for all but expertly so with a lovely atmosphere . Thoroughly recommend 🙂

After a slightly windswept walk to the castle we were in need of a bite to eat and some refreshing drinks. The Lighthouse offers dining inside and out so was perfect for us.
Our server was very polite and friendly.
We just shared some “dirty fries” as we were planning to go out for dinner a few hours later, I have to say they were excellent, so good I almost ordered another portion!!!!
Our overall impression was far better than expected, sometimes these places can be left to become a little run-down, rough around the edges with poor service but no, I’m pleased to report it’s the total opposite!
I’d definitely recommend this place. They even have a take-away hatch on the side and offer water for your dog, nice touch.
A large public car park very close by which we used, or they have their own next to the entrance for customers only.

What a fantastic place. The food was delicious, all four of us had different mains and all four said it was excellent.
The service was very good. Very professional yet friendly too.
We were celebrating a birthday. The food was so good we weren’t hungry for dessert, but they brought over a lovely Happy Birthday platter with chocolate and ice cream (on the house).

Decided to go to the lighthouse for lunch based on its glowing google reviews but to say we were disappointed would be an understatement. The food was shockingly bad. We ordered fish tacos which were freezing cold, covered in a cheap tikka masala sauce (rogue) and stuffed inside a stale hard taco shell, fish and chips which were swimming in oil, a chicken burger which was average at best, and the simplest of them all … fries which arrived at room temperature and what I can only explain as dry and stale which we sent back twice and sadly arrived back in the same condition both times. The only saving grace to this meal was the kind manager who kindly took money off the bill and was incredibly apologetic, however this didn’t make up for the appalling food. I will not be returning and I would strongly advise you save your money.

The service was personal, warm and attentive from start to finish, creating a genuinely welcoming atmosphere. The menu is wide-ranging and caters well for a variety of tastes and dietary preferences. Although there was a slight delay with one of the dishes, it was handled impeccably, the team apologised promptly and removed it from the bill, which was a thoughtful and professional touch.
The décor and environment are lovely, relaxed yet polished, and it’s a real bonus that the restaurant is dog-friendly, which added to the overall warmth of the experience.
A place that clearly values hospitality and gets the details right. We’d happily return.

Great restaurant. The food was very good, everything fresh and the prices were very reasonable for the quality and freshness of food. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting. The service was ok, nothing to write about. All in all – very good!
