When I walked in I got a great first impression . The music was good and chill vibes . The employees and GM were really nice and attentive ! This is a true definition of SOUL FOOD . 20/10 ! Must try the mystery drink ! It felt like I was eating grandmas soul food with a side of kool-aid ! Brought home-felt vibes and culture . I will be coming back again and again ! I haven’t felt this good about food and an establishment like this in a while . I have to give credit when and where it’s due ! 100% satisfied

The food was delicious. I had the shrimp dinner with candied yams and collard greens. I liked that the shrimp was crispy and seasoned. The strawberry lemonade was good too, but I wasn’t told that there was an upcharge for the favor strawberry. The collard greens had a little spicy to it that I liked. It only came with 6 shrimp. Wish it came with more. My husband had the steak dinner with Mac and cheese and candied yams. He loved the steak ! He ordered a sweet tea, but it didn’t taste like sweet tea. It tasted like it had some kind of fruit in it that we could figure out. He didn’t like it. The gratuity was already included on our check. I would have left more for a tip until I checked our receipt and seen that it was included. You should go early like right after it opens, if not it gets packed quickly.

We went there last night for dinner it’s nice inside the music I didn’t care for need a better choice. that was our first time trying them out. the young lady that waited on us was very nice.now for the place to have not been busy the service was extremely slow I thought I was gonna have to go in the kitchen and help cook. the food well my chicken wings was salty couldn’t eat them I ordered the vegetable rice it was not fresh you could tell it had been sitting out for a while and it was dried out. Ordered chicken nuggets for my grandbaby and fries the nuggets had no taste tasted like flour water fried. the fries tasted like store bought fries cooked in old grease. so this place doesn’t live up to its food which is soul food. for the money what was spent it wasn’t worth it. if you gonna cook soul food it doesn’t have to be greasy overly seasoned it’s all bout prep preparing and love. You have to realize a lot of people has high blood pressure and all the salt isn’t good it’s herbs and spices you can use to bring flavor. anyways it’s not worth the money, and the tea was so sweet I couldn’t drink it. I was gonna order dessert I didn’t want to be disappointed.

I was truly disappointed in the food the chicken was overly salty , the greens were too spicy , too many red flakes. The Mac and cheese was good. I was upset about the wait it was over 1 waiter which was the General Manager Trey he was nice but overall the restaurant can use a little bit more moral , can be more welcoming and a little cleaner .

We happened to be in the area and had been told about the Licking so we decided to stop in for lunch 12:30pm. The Caribbean flavors here are of abundance and I love that, the Greens were some of the best I had in some time and that Mac n Cheese was delicious, the Baked Chicken was juicy and cooked to perfection. My wife had the Chicken Tenders and Red Velvet Waffles…the Tenders were seasoned to perfection, the waffle stoked curiosity as it did not taste like a waffle or red velvet cake so it was puzzling….we also tried the hot honey dip as well as the lemon pepper dip for the Tenders, DO NOT LEAVE THIS PLACE WITHOUT TRYING THE DIPS, they are PHENOMENAL!!!! I have nearly 7M views and I believe I do try and be fair and equal to every place we visit. I never take pictures or mention any reviews until I ask permission after I’ve paid for every meal. Customer service was friendly and terrible at the same time: there was literally 1 other table seated with 3 people, no one else in the place at all. Why would it take so long for someone to come and take an order, so long in fact I conducted some business, moved some financials about and just as we were about to walk out, here comes some help finally!! I just don’t get it, especially given there was literally nothing going in in the restaurant and it was 12:30 or so. I think this spot will survive and thrive in this area, keep in mind however money is tightening, wallets are closing, the abundance of choice in this area for dining is aplenty. Step it up, people have choices as to where they can and will spend their money, make sure they WANT to come back and spend with you!!!

If you’re looking for a place with friendly service, don’t visit this establishment. I discovered it on Instagram and was excited to try the food, but my experience from start to finish was disappointing.
I ordered a Lemon8 drop flight, which took 20 minutes to arrive. The young lady forgot my order. When the drink finally came, it was undrinkable—it tasted like straight rubbing alcohol. When I brought this to her attention and asked to replace it, she said no, explaining that the drinks would still be charged to my tab, which I accepted since it was only $20.
I also waited 35 minutes for my food. While it took a while, the dishes were fresh, delicious, and worth the wait. However, the young ladies working there were not pleasant at all, and that’s the main reason I won’t return. Good food and excellent customer service are what keep people coming back, and this place lacked both during my visit.

I recommended The Licking because I previously had a great experience at another location several years ago. My experience in Miami was excellent, which made this visit even more disappointing.
My colleagues and I are in town for a conference, and there were only three of us. When we walked in, there were at least five or six tables that needed to be cleaned while several employees were standing around. It did not feel welcoming, and you could clearly tell our server did not want to be there.
As we began ordering, she informed us that we could not have more than two checks. I explained that we were traveling for business and needed separate checks for documentation purposes. Despite it being a Monday and the restaurant being nearly empty, there was no flexibility. She further suggested that we could order our food to go and sit outside to eat. That suggestion was especially surprising considering the dining room was practically empty.
We understand that businesses have policies, but this felt unnecessary and dismissive. Ultimately, we politely chose to leave. It was disappointing to see a restaurant allow paying customers to walk out over what seemed like a minor issue, particularly when they were not busy.
Based on this experience, I cannot recommend the Orlando location.

I dont understand how this restraunt has 3.7 stars the food was DELICIOUS and it came out fairly quickly. I came thru on Sunday 3/1/26 I got the chicken breast, collards and mac. Also another plate with Shrimp, collards and mac and it was seriously sooooo good. Probably some of the best soul food i’ve had in awhile. Not to mention the mystery drinks were amazing as well. I was not disappointed and i will be back whenever im in the area. The staff was also very kind and made my experience even better.

I visited Finga Lickin’ in my military uniform, and even though they didn’t offer a military discount, General Manager T went above and beyond — he generously offered to cover my meal himself. That small act of kindness meant a lot and truly showed his character.
T’s personality was amazing — friendly, professional, and genuinely caring. He was well-spoken, knowledgeable, and clearly takes pride in both his team and the restaurant. The store itself was spotless, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere that made me feel right at home.
And the food? Absolutely fresh, flavorful, and delicious! Everything was cooked perfectly and served hot. You can tell they care about quality.

Okay, if you are in Orlando, hungry, and love soul food… you have to stop in “The Licking”! The price point is great, the food is well flavored, and our server was very attentive. There is music played in the background but you can hear conversations at your table. It was a really good vibe.
I had the baked chicken dinner with green beans and candied yams. Other orders placed were, the seafood fried rice, grilled red snapper with greens and mac and cheese, and the chicken quesadilla. Everything was good.
There were 5 of us in our party, 4 adults and 1 child. Our bill was not even $130 total, including the tip. @DJKhaled we hope you think about opening this restaurant in Vegas!
