I was really excited to try this place and was a bit disappointed with the information I was given from the person preparing drinks. I asked if the teas were sweetened anyway and she said that they were sugar-free, so then I asked what they were sweetened with if not sugar, I asked if there were any artificial sweeteners, specifically asking about sucralose and she said no. Knowing that the drinks were colorful and most people don’t drink completely unsweet tea, I was confused but the barista was really busy and I didn’t want to continue to pester her, so I ordered anyway after she assured me many times there were no sweeteners or artificial sweeteners in the drinks. I received my drink and it was super duper sweet and after looking up the brand I discovered it was sweetened with sucralose. I don’t think the drink itself was super bad but it was way sweeter than I was comfortable with and I’m not that happy that I paid $10 and got misinformation from the person who prepared the drink. Usually I would have tried to settle it before I left but she was so busy that I did not want to put more on her plate.

I had my first experience at The Lakes Social and I was not disappointed! This family owned gem in Land O’ Lakes offers a unique take on teas and shakes with a very healthy way to enjoy deli ovoid hand crafted healthy drinks! They also offer some food delights as well. I was pleasantly greeted by the owner Matt and he was very helpful with helping me place my drink order. I went with one of their Shamrock mint cookies and cream shakes that they had one their St. Patrick’s Day holiday special menu! This quaint oasis offered a sitting couch and plush chairs, and a few tables and chairs to sit and get some laptop work done if desired. It was quiet and very pleasant. They also offer a play space in the back of the business for little ones to play while a Mom relaxes on the couch to enjoy her drink! I was very happy I stopped and I’m looking forward to returning with my family to try some more shakes!

The Lakes Social’s decor is absolutely adorable… It would get 5 stars just for the decor if didn’t also order food. My daughter and I saw this cute place which serves teas, coffee, shakes, pre- and post-gym workout drinks, and protein bowls and treats.
When we arrived there was one young lady working and she already seemed overwhelmed. She was extremely apologetic and pleasant so we were happy to wait.
We ordered açai bowls, which were pretty expensive at $12 each. We love açai bowls and enjoy getting them wherever we go. These bowls were disappointing as they were primarily water. The açai mixture was cold, pale-colored, and bland, an icy mixture which was soupy as soon as we sat down to eat them. This might’ve been tolerable had there been a sufficient amount of other ingredients. However, there were only a few slices of strawberry, maybe a little crushed pineapple, a little granola, no bananas, no other fruit. There were chia seeds and a small amount of coconut flakes, but no real substance, nothing redeeming about these expensive bowls. We ate what we could and left hungry.
We didn’t bring them back as the young lady was so busy and overwhelmed. She seemed to already have enough on her plate. It’s funny, because I had planned to other the mango bowl butt just ordered the same as my daughter, thinking that would be easier and faster for the server.
I think that the owner needs to review the preparation of this bowl with the staff and be sure that there is actually fruit or reduce the prices accordingly. Also, there needs to be adequate help and if a bowl looks puny and watery then the staff should know to not serve it. It was an adorable shop. Hopefully they can remedy their issues.

JOST RULES
What a great place to have in the neighborhood! Matt and Megan are fantastic. This will be my go to spot for a refreshing drink. Not only that but it was nutritious, health conscious and delicious. I love supporting local businesses because this one of a kind place you won’t find anywhere.

Megan is the very best! Always smiling! And the drinks, waffles and donuts are healthy AND yummy! Will never not go. Great assortment of staple flavor teas with a revolving themed menu for each month! So cute!

Visited today for the first time and my heart smiled as soon as I walked in! Megan and Matt were both very friendly and attentive. Ordered a peach mango tea and it hit the spot. Also ordered some protein donuts and they were delish….and healthy…plus plus!!! Looking forward to trying their protein shakes and waffles next time. Check them out, highly recommend!
