We were looking for a quick bite around 630pm on a Thursday evening. We stopped at one place in Rye and were turned away with our take out order. Lucky for us they turned us away or we wouldn’t have found The Kitchen. I walked in to place an order to go and was quickly greeted by a very friendly crew. My husband waited in the car out front because we were getting takeout. I placed an order of a salad with chicken, a BLT and their potatoes. I was told it would be about 10 minutes. Everyone was so nice and friendly, I called my husband and told him to come on in and let’s have a drink. He did and the bartender was wonderful. Very friendly, engaging and made us great drinks. It’s a really nice place with good service and great drinks. The food was also really tasty with good portions. If we’re ever in the area again, we are definitely going back.

Dinner was really good. My wife and I shared the lamb burger and the short rib grilled cheese/panini. Also had an excellent tomato bisque soup (very different and delicious). Really good draft craft beer offering.

Nice atmosphere outside and really good food. There are a number of gluten-free options and they do not have flour in their kitchen. The spudsters are very good and worth a try. Gluten-free veggie Reuben is great. Good cocktails as well.

Went for lunch- ate outside. Nice patio, right on islington but you don’t hear any noise. Great service – excellent food. Some parking on the street – within walking of several pay lots-worth the walk. Great selection of summertime cocktails.

The service was very limited and not very personable. They were very talkative to the customer’s drinking but no other tables. My husband had the meatball sandwich which was very blah, even our 9 year old wouldn’t eat them. She had the tuna sandwich and she thought it was very good. I had wings and spudsters neither one of them had any flavor, the spudsters were very mealy tasting and NO flavor the wings were ok. Would I recommend this restaurant absolutely not.

We went when they were not very busy and were harassed by 2 different waiters to order so we hurried our order and 2 out of 4 of us couldn’t come close to finishing our meal because it was disgusting. The other 2 of us only ate half our meal. I have heard good things about this restaurant but I’ll never come back. The drinks were good. Their wait staff needs to chill, and the hot chicken sandwich needs to be removed from the menu yuck.

Great low-key spot to grab a good bite to eat without breaking the bank or needing to ‘get dressed’. Lots of locals–many singles who grabbed a bite at the bar after work, weren’t ‘hit on’ and enjoyed their meal in peace. Service was excellent–super friendly, timely, helpful. Sandwiches very tasty but quite skimpy on the coleslaw amount (maybe a 1/2 cup?). Same with the ‘fried mashed ‘taters’ we shared as an appetizer–about double the amount expected for the price. Yes, we will go back, but ‘The Kitchen’ offers similar fare and prices, but more value.

Went here after a disastrous food truck event at Cisco Brewery. The lines were so long at the event we needed to find something to eat .. And I this was most highly reviewed & open. Did not disappoint. The lamb & duck burgers were delish! And their homemade infused spirits were AMAZING! Cannot wait to come back for dinner. Service at the bar=exceptional. Wonderful wonderful wonderful.

Always love finding a local spot to dine – found this gem one evening while looking for a bite. Short wait to be seated but busy = good and it being winter limited in door seating. Drinks and food were great and would reccomend this location while in town.
