I was chatting with the owner of a local seafood restaurant who told me to go try the chef-owned Kelpie for some outstanding fish and chips. We took his advice and had an outstanding meal this evening! I had the above mentioned fish and chips and it was really good. Flaky white fish in a deliciously crunchy crust with great thick cut steak fries (chips). And the chips were hot- something I feel I haven’t had in a long while elsewhere. My husband took the recommendation of our very nice server and had the seafood mac and cheese. He said it was very good and full of shrimp and other fish. All this with Smithwicks on tap and a dog friendly patio. I highly recommend!

We stopped in last weekend for brunch and everything was so good! I was cold from walking on the beach so I went with the Guinness stew. It was so warm and hearty. My fiancé got the chicken sandwich, it was so big we had to take half of it home for later. Then my best friend got the Sausage Yorkies, she said it was also delicious. Then we decided to splurge for dessert and got the bread pudding. O. M. G. It was fabulous. Looks like we will definitely be coming back.

Ruth was the sweetest server. We had scotch eggs (first time), cottage pie, stew and bread pudding. All were excellent.

I overheard a couple talking about how awesome this place was so we had to check it out. This place is so great we’ve been back a couple times already, lol. All the food we’ve had is amazing! And the atmosphere is laid back and social. Grab a table inside or out (outside is pretty cool), sit at a bar table or at the bar. Doesn’t get much better. You absolutely have to start with the scotch eggs. Dab some of their house sauce on it and you’ll be ordering another round! And you can buy the sauce and you should. For entrees I don’t even know where to start. Fish n chips, bangers and mash, any of the versions of Mac n cheese or any sandwiches, etc, etc. It was all fantastic. Same story with drinks. Their tap and bottle selection is top notch, and their cocktails are unique but outstanding. Try the Bramble even if you don’t like gin. And I highly recommend you top your meal off with the bread pudding. Thank me later.

Literally the best food we’ve had on the island. Fish and chips? Cottage Pie? I am sad we made it here our last day, but fear not, Ruth took amazing care of us! And we’re leaving with a cooler full of food. 10000% recommend making this a part of your stay.

For a long time, I struggled to find a good restaurant on the island that I really loved but The Kelpie has finally filled that void!

The staff is wonderful and the food is incredible! You can really tell this menu came from a personal passion for delicious meals!

I’ll be taking my friends and visiting The Kelpie every time I want a meal out on Tybee! Can’t wait to try more of the menu!

Great service with top notch food and drinks. The food is probably the best quality and presentation on Tybee. This caliber of food anywhere else would easily cost more. You can tell they take pride in what they serve as well.

This unassuming pub is tucked behind a BP gas station on the main thoroughfare before hitting the quiet beach town. We were immediately greeted warmly by staff and patrons. The bartender, Erika, told us to take a few moments to look over the menu as we were now on “Tybee time”. The menus’ offerings all looked delicious but we there specifically for brunch settling on the “The Royale”, a salmon topped English muffin with homemade hollandaise and Chicken n Waffles with sausage gravy and pecan maple syrup. We enjoyed several delicious drinks, UK beers and finished with a traditionally made Irish coffee. After profusely thanking the chef, Gordon, we learned even the unisex bathrooms were clean and well stocked including feminine products. Everything, from the moment we arrived to the moment we left, was superb!
PS: The Bloody Mary is garnished with a perfect Scotch egg

We were so excited when we heard a new pub was coming to Tybee considering we come here yearly! We ordered the fish and chips and the bangers and mash — both were absolutely delicious. We also tried the steak frites and scallop bruschetta, but I didn’t catch a photo because they were gone within a few minutes! Everything was full of flavor, cooked perfectly, and well presented. I cannot remember our servers name but she deserves recognition for taking good care of us! Thank you Nick, Whitney and Gordon for the great food, service and atmosphere!

So excited about this new establishment! Wonderful to have a new cuisine option on the island! The house cocktail, The Kelpie, is *chef’s kiss*! The steak frites are DELICIOUS (as evidenced by the plate we later licked clean)! I’d expect nothing less from Chef Gordon and his amazing wife, Whitney! Come check this place out – you won’t regret it!
