Stopped by the Junction on Tuesday for lunch.
I ordered the Mediterranean turkey burger. It was so delicious . I cut up the burger & pita in 4s so I could eat it in smaller bites. Add the taziki sauce, yum! The greek salad was fresh and delicious as well.. also asked for their chicken dumpling soup. WOW, I never tasted soup I’ll like that.. I’m going to order that again

I stopped in here for somewhere warm to eat while on a trip. Absolutely kindest staff! Very patient and attentive. I had the Mexican burrito, it was delicious! It came with a side of salsa and was so big I could only eat half! My bill was under $10 as well.

No frills breakfast diner. A long time Dekalb establishment, specializing in breakfast. Serves all the basics/classics that one would expect; eggs, bacon, hash browns, etc. nothing fancy, but they are great at what they do. Great prices. The homemade bran muffins were exceptional. Have eaten here in the past, would eat here again.

We got there at first and told the waitress we needed some time to look at the drinks. She came back 10 mins later. Just for drinks. I got sweet tea and it wasn’t the best ,then we ordered one egg, a side of bacon and hash browns. The wait wasn’t bad but when we got our food my eggs were cold and the bacon wasn’t very crispy. The hash browns were okay. Then we finished fairly fast and waited 10 mins and our waitress finally came back and took our food and then it took her 15 mins to get our check. Wouldn’t go again.

The food here is great (especially breakfast). Never had a bad meal. Service is good. It’s just a quiet, homey kinda place. Excellent old school diner.

I’ve loved coming to the junction since I was a kid. Such friendly welcoming staff, and a very positive environment. It feels like coming home to a warm meal every time. I love their breakfast and the coffee is always so good . Would highly recommend for all ages.

Great hometown restaurant, love going here for breakfast. The omelets are SO good and my kiddo loves the mickey pancakes. Atmosphere is quant with the train vibes. And if your lucky, they have a train up by the ceiling that makes laps around the room.

Stopped here for breakfast before NIUs STEM Fest. Thought the prices were okay for a college town (used to my small town prices, though).

The inside was super cute. It was clean, including the bathroom. The staff was friendly. The waiter was on top of refills for coffee & water.

The pancakes were your average family restaurant pancakes. Both of my boys ate very well, they can be picky, so that says a lot!

The train that goes around part of the building kept my wild 8 year occupied for a bit. I noticed they had coloring pages and crayons, but they were never offered to us. I didn’t see them until I paid.

They charge a small fee for paying w a card, but didn’t tell me; I noticed it on the screen.

We would definitely go back while in Dekalb.

Honestly, when I moved to Dekalb five years ago, I was scared. As corny as it sounds, I wanted an awesome local diner. And that’s what I receive here. Chris is amazing and accommodating, have never had one issue. Everyone there is very sweet and it’s much appreciated.

It used to be a good place to eat, but recently with the menu change I was not impressed. Our waitress was nowhere to be found when we needed refills and when I asked about what I usually get, she was rude about it and said what we got it’s what we got. Definitely will not be returning. I do not recommend this place.
