First I want to say I have been to the Jar with members of my family several times and I really love it. Great food and staff. I would have given 5 stars except for the fact that there is only 1 “regular height” table and chairs. We go early around 3 to hopefully get that 1 table. However this past week when I arrived it was already taken. I noticed that the people were eating and didn’t think they would be too long. So I attempted to get on one of the high chairs at the table behind them so i could get the regular table when they left. I am in my 70’s and not as limber as I used to be so it was difficult but I finally succeeded. At one point I almost slid off the chair or stool. It was uncomfortable waiting there and no way would I have attempted to actually eat at that table. Anyway they left after a while and I got the table and waited for others to arrive. All of this being said I am hoping you would consider a few more low tables for those of us who cannot sit on those high stools but still like to have wings and good food and a beer. I also witnessed the unfortunate incident of a toddler upsetting a high stool he was sitting on with his family and falling to the hard floor with the stool on top of him. That was frightening. Thank you for your consideration.
Thank you for responding. Also sorry if I mistakenly thought the child fell off the stool. But at one point I did see him on the stool and that is why I thought he fell.

Cool little “hole in the wall” bar and grill. The stuffed Hungarian Wax peppers and the wings with their signature bottom of the jar sauce were fantastic! The bartender was funny and awesome to talk to and yiu never had to ask for anything. Check this place out if you’re in the area!

Was recommended from several people so while in the area we checked it out! Wings amazing , perfectly cooked , got a salad with the BOJ sauce and I loved it ! Homemade Ranch so good, my boyfriend got a foot long it had so much on it and was amazing! Reasonable food prices! Not a fan of the pepperoni rolls that are deep fried , but that honestly was it! Had a true bar atmosphere! True bar food ! Not pricey at all! And I really liked the service! Would return for sure!

Dont expect things on the menu to be accurate. Also dont expect and of their weekly specials to be what they say they are. This place has really good wings when I went a few months ago but when I went to go back everything was different, more expensive and incorrectly advertised. I feel bad for people who dont call to make sure they honor the information displayed on their menus, showing up expecting one thing but for it not to exist, would be a dissapointment. Also why are there 3 different google accounts for this business? The Jar, The Jar & Hotspot, and then The Mason Jar??

Aside from having hand cut fries, this place is very low quality.
Also tried to order 2 different Mason Jar drinks(the name of the bar) and I had to not get anything because most of the alcohol, they were “out” of. So i got a flat Sam adams Octoberfest instead. What a waste of money this was. Idk what the point of naming yourself “The Jar” is if i cant even order a signature mason jar drink. The waiter was present but mediocre at best(this was also the person making my drink and cooking my wings????) Why is this place trying to fake and falsely market a brand that doesnt exist. If it wasnt for college students, this place would be shut down.
Changed my rating from 2 stars to 1 star after trying this place for the third time…

We ordered from Grubhub. Very very yum. The wings for me were the best! The hot garlic Parmesan and the Bottom of The Jar wing are a must. The Buffalo Chicken sandwich is good, a lil sweeter then expected. The Beer Battered fries don’t do well with take out, very soggy by the time we got them.

It’s posted as a restaurant, we showed up at 745pm and was told by some woman outside smoking … That the restaurant part .. was closed.. and it was just a bar… I’m from out of town and this was close by and I thought it was gonna be good food after the WVU game… Was very disappointed at 745, the kitchen was closed… On a Saturday night on the night of a WVU game… Smh wow.. I can’t rate anything cause we was basically told to leave by the woman smoking outside…. So we did…

The wings are spot on. Crispy and juicy with an array of sauces and dry rubs. The bottom of the jar and house honey rub are fantastic. Don’t sleep on the burgers and hoagies!
