very homophobic. me and my friend are both over age. bouncer turned us down because we were “complaining”. mind you we were not at all. continued to turn us down 3 more times with REAL. ohio ids.offered us to pay 50 dollars to get in. we will not accept bribery especially when hundreds of underage people are let in. bouncer needs fired and a reality check. 12/06/25 santa fest. i cannot think of any other reason why he would turn us down other than the fact that my cousin is flamboyant. i do not leave bad reviews but this crossed the line. he checked 2 ohio ids and said no but then again maybe he isn’t used to seeing real ids.

As a business owner I understand the way of business and requirements however your bar is 21 and up, I am 21 years old an Ohio resident and was denied tonight by your bouncer. 12/06/25 the only difference with me is I am a gay male and have a real Ohio license. The rest he let in with obvious fake out of state Id’s. You may want to check up on this as further actions will be taken if not resolved.

Wow. I mean I just went to the J bar, formally known as the junction I believe and I’m just speechless. I asked for a summer shandy on draft and it came out looking like something from a movie, like the lord came and poured it with his tears, dare I say almost AI generated. I had to get a snap a picture for my family because it was just too good to be true. This fella with the buzz cut knows booze man, summer shandy or a water I can’t even tell the difference in this place !

My watering hole. OU alumni and my names on those bricks top left corner next to the water pipe. Rumple Cave had me fighting demons for years but I won. Also never seen more pairs of shoes in one bathroom stall in my life. IYKYK. Play the Hum at my funeral. $4 doubles in this economy, unbeatable. Cats by 90.

This is definitely the most dance club like bar in Athens. Always very crowded and very loud- not to mention filled with drunk underagers. Drinks are standard, if not watered down. The neat thing about this bar is they have great music selection and a cool balcony area with another drink service location.

Worst bar in Athens. As busy as they are you’d think they’d have a few extra staffers around to serve drinks. The people at this bar sucked but the drinks are even worse. I couldn’t have gotten drunk here if my life depended on it.

A recent remodel has made this probably the nicest atmosphere bar in Uptown. Beer selection so-so, well drinks were decent. (All of my Uptown bar ratings refer to when they’re not jammed; subtract a few stars on weekends during school year)

Been 21 for close to a year now, and Jbar is still the only bar in Athens that denies me. Door guys have no idea real IDs from fakes and let hoards of sorority girls rush in without showing ID.
