Wow, just wow! I visited here based on recommendations from my hotel and a local. They were spot on, this is up there with my favourite Indian Restaurants in the UK. I can honestly say, for me, probably the best Jalfrezi I’ve ever had. The spices used and the way this was made was just different to others, probably a specific regional dish with unique flavouring but 100% worth it. The staff were great and attentive, Sham was a great waiter, so overall an excellent experience.

An Unforgettable New Year’s Eve at The Island Restaurant
We visited The Island Restaurant as a family of four on New Year’s Eve, and I can honestly say it was the perfect way to end the year. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and full of positive energy, even though the restaurant was understandably very busy.
A huge shout-out goes to Sophia and the rest of the team, who were absolutely amazing. Despite the New Year’s Eve rush, the level of service never dropped for a second. Everyone was friendly, professional, and constantly smiling, which made us feel genuinely welcome and well looked after throughout our visit.
The food was really lovely — beautifully prepared, full of flavour, and clearly made with care. Even with the restaurant being so busy, the standards were kept exceptionally high, which says a lot about how well the team works together.
What really stood out was the staff’s attitude. Every member of the team had a smile on their face and made the effort to ensure we were comfortable and enjoying ourselves. The manager was also incredibly lovely, checking in and making sure everything was running smoothly, which added a really personal touch to the experience.
Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience and such a lovely way to end the year with family. We left feeling happy, satisfied, and already talking about coming back.
I would 100% recommend The Island Restaurant to anyone looking for great food, outstanding service, and a welcoming atmosphere — and I would absolutely go again without hesitation.

10/10 for the warm welcome when I stepped in covered in snow, and the nice warm calm atmosphere. I would come here for a special meal for sure. Prices are reasonable too.
8/10 for the lamb chops main course. It was delicious and was extra nice that it came with a small pot of veggie curry to dip my lovely naan bread in. But half the chops were so tough. If you tell them something isn’t quite right then they’ll do their utmost to make it right for you which is so appreciated.

We had a great experience thanks to Nina and Maj. They were both friendly and welcoming and made us feel comfortable from the start. Nina was kind and attentive, and Maj was patient and helpful, making sure everything was right. They worked well together and the service felt smooth and relaxed.

It’s a shame because the food is really nice but the service lets them down massively! Ordered for the first time on NYE, pre-ordered at 18:00 to be delivered for 20:00. Food finally arrived at 22:00!!!! After I contacted the restaurant they said they were very busy. Tried to claim some compensation which the restaurant declined.
Wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt as the food was nice and thought maybe it was a one off due to it being NYE but NO. Ordered on a Friday evening at 19:00 food arrived at 21:00!
Should not be expected to wait 2 hours for a takeaway! Just not good enough. Won’t be ordering again.

First time visiting and it’s easy to see why they have so many 5 star reviews, they are well earned and well deserved.
Service:
The staff are very friendly, attentive and ensure your visit is first class service.
We had Nina waiting on our table and she ensured that we had enough drinks and that we are enjoying our food and had everything we need.
Nina is an absolute star and delight, 10/10 service.
As I say, all the staff are excellent, including the other ladies and gentlemen.

Meat platter starter had such incredible flavours and well worth the £9.95.
I ordered a chicken tikka masala and requested to have it hotter as I enjoy the taste but prefer it with more heat.
The chef seasoned the masala absolutely perfectly, bursting with flavour and even got the heat level to what I requested, it was delicous!
Poppadoms and the sauces they were served with were very fresh and tasted great, in particular the mint and chilli sauce!
Cheese nan, light, delicous well cooked.
Chips crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside.
Egg fried rice was cooked perfectly as well.
The chocolate fudge sundae tasted amazing as well, ice cream tastes great, plenty of sauce on top and a lot of fudge brownie pieces.
It was a challenge to eat all the food as the portion sizes are very generous as well, next time we visit ill definitely need to order a smaller starter.
Value for money:
I was pleasantly surprised at the end bill as it also included 3 drinks.
Value for money for the taste, quality and portion sizes is outstanding.
Will definitely be returning in the future.

Absolutely by far, THE best Indian restaurant in stafford!!! The food was out of this world, the service was fast, friendly and attentative. Our waiter was such a lovely young man. I believe his name was Sham. (Did i mention the food was amazing) highly recommend the north Indian dishes, the lamb just melted in my mouth. I love spicy food, the hotter the better, I normally go straight to the vindaloo but im so glad I tried the north Indian dish instead. You can’t buy alcoholic drinks there but this was brilliant as we took our own so there was no expense on the bill for over priced alcohol. I was so pleasantly surprised at our bill. We will 100% be going back there! Highly recommend
