Social Profile:

HOME TO THE ARTS The Inner Town Pub, Home of the Arts, has been a West Town / Ukrainian Village institution for 35+ years. Its history in the neighborhood goes back to the days of Prohibition, the ITP came into its own during late 80’s early 90’s, becoming a home for the local bohemian artist community. Walking into the ITP, you will be welcomed by the dimly lit, eclectic space with artwork and knick knacks that you would find in your crazy uncle’s basement, with a special affinity to Elvis. Time stands still here, but you can always count on our friendly staff, laid back bar flies, cheap drinks, great music on the jukebox and free pool.

Chill neighborhood bar with brews, pool & event nights in a convivial locale with eclectic decor.

Great vibes, but the service was rough. The female bartender was rude and talked down on me for not tipping $4 for a $16 order. I tipped 3, which is already a healthy tip for serving canned beers. Really didn’t appreciate that. Male bartender with glasses and mustache was great though!

I’m not rating food as they don’t serve any. It’s a dive bar. A honest dive bar. Cash only. I go there every now and then. Good place for a beer after work.

I lived around the corner from Inner Town in the mid 90’s. It was not a fancy uptown bar but a place to chill out and relax – with a great jukebox. I went there nightly and eventually met my wife there. We’ve been married 25 years and we still go back once in awhile. It’s not changed at all! Now my daughter hangs out there. I’m a huge fan of Inner Town and I hope it continues to serve us cool kids, who are maybe a little awkward, forever.

This is far and above one of the best bars in Chicago. The bartenders are skilled, fast, and the highest quality people. The crowd is laid back and beautiful, with an eclectic mixture of folks of all walks of life playing pool, chatting with friends, or making out in the photo booth in the back. Speaking of photos, I would be remissed if I didn’t mention the beautiful lighting that will brighten up anyone’s avi or Instagram photoshoot.

The scene is only the most superficial side of the bar, however. The bartenders are SKILLED. They often have specials with drinks designed by master mixologist Brandon who runs the bars many a weekend, and humble as he may look, can get you the exact drink you want and maybe something you didn’t know you wanted. Tourists should order a Chicago Handshake, for an unforgettable welcome to the best city in the country.
Stop in for a gin and tonic in a pint glass (splash of olive juice and twist of lemon for me as well).

Neighborhood dive bar, cash only. The bartenders were pretty quick and attentive on a busy Saturday night. Lively atmosphere but not too crowded or wild

Found this place thru a friend and it was the most fun I had at a bar all night!! Great music, great staff and well made drinks with good prices. Simple place but great people. Definitely will be back when in town again.

Lovely dive bar, nice staff, pool table, solid beer menu and even a small, but good cocktail menu. Cash only bar, but they have an ATM inside.

Is there a better Elvis-themed cash-only bar in Wicker Park? I think not.
