That’s all you get with a steak salad just FYI. Real steak on the salad, but the hoagie is steak ums, important to know if considering placing an order.

We were the last people in on a Friday night and hungry. Dining room was empty so we sat at the bar. By the time we were done, we were the only patrons. (They close at 9). The owners were working and made us feel very welcome. We had a nice visit, the food was good (fish sandwiches, fries and coleslaw…large portions), and price was nice. We never felt rushed which we appreciated. Good place for a casual meal…full menu etc. I recommend and we will be back.

It’s a pretty fine place, the building itself is pretty nice. I like how they styled and themed the interior instead of making it basic like a lot of local restaurants. I found the food to be quite fine, with the only complaint being the lettuce taking a slight brown rot color.

This place is a gem. Been going here since 2004. I make it a point to stop here each time I’m back in Pittsburgh. My friends and I found this place looking for a “middle of nowhere bar” in 2004. For my 22nd birthday the bartender bought me 2 beers. Love this place.

Hidden gem!! Love , love this establishment and the owners! I started coming here for lunch from work years ago and have never been disappointed. Standing order Crab Cake sandwich, hot tea. Dinner here is AMAZING as well. JoAnn and Phil ( Owners) are the most genuine, personable kindest people. Do yourself a favor and dine here trust me you will love it!!

We were in town for the Iron Maiden concert and wanted to find a local place to eat vs a chain restaurant. When we arrived, we were slightly concerned because the lot was empty and even more unsure when we realized we were the only ones at the restaurant. But, out concern quickly evaporated when we were greeted with a friendly smile. The food, service and atmosphere were great. It felt like home. My only recommendation is to update the restrooms. They were clean, but definitely are past their time for a remodel.

I’m not sure where the other reviewers were but it couldn’t have been here. Had I not been talking about how strange the layout was, I mighty have noticed that the ceilings are falling down throughout. We ordered steamed shrimp and fried zucchini as appetizers. The shrimp was seasoned well. The cocktail sauce must have been old. Really old. It was clumpy and separated. The zucchini was cooked well. The marinara way runny and thin. Both sauces that came with the appetizers were served in disposable plastic containers and seemed to be old. 3 of us ordered seafood bisque. We watched the waitress heat it in a microwave. When it got to the table it was lukewarm at best. I truly thought the girl somehow brought us sausage gravy by accident. It was overly thick for gravy let alone for what was supposed to be soup. It has no seafood in it that I could find. My brother said he found some white fish in it. It didn’t taste like anything other than an overly thick bechamel with pepper. One spoon was enough to let me know I didn’t want more. My N.Y. strip and shrimp came, the steak wasn’t seasoned, was cooked poorly, and was mostly gristle. The shrimp were an okay, prepacked, frozen product. The potatoe was supposed to come with butter… country crock. My brother’s steak wasn’t any better and his shrimp and scallops seemed to be broiled in margarine as well. I’ll sum it up with this: my sister-in-law didn’t even finish her chicken salad. Skip this place. Skip way past it.

We were in town for a concert and like to try independently owned, out-of-the-way restaurants over chain restaurants. A little concerned when we got there as there was no one else in the parking lot or restaurant. However, the food and service were both great! It’s an older building and could use some updating but the aged ambience was kinda cool as well. Should give it a try if you’re in the area 🙂
