I went here for my birthday dinner and I have not had such an experience in Munich yet
The food, the cocktails and most inportant the hospitality the staff was amazing. Such attention to detail, the chef came to meet us personally and made sure everything was just perfect.
We had lamb seekh kebab- which was heavenly and kale patte ki chat for appetizers (which was a huge surprise). Mutton ratta and butter chicken for main course were amazing, pieces were ultra juicy and soft. The cocktails were also really good. They also gave us complimentary pumpkin soup and lichi schnapps in the end.
This will be my most recommended place in munich for taste and fine dine.
I had an unforgettable experience at The Indian Room in Munich. The food was truly exceptional — every dish showcased an innovative touch that elevated Indian cuisine to a whole new level. Chef Devraj Sir personally came to our table and spent time speaking with us. He’s an incredibly humble person and a true culinary artist who reimagines Indian flavors with such creativity and respect for tradition.
Our server, Ilyas, was equally wonderful — thoughtful, attentive, and genuinely kind. The service throughout the evening was impeccable. The food (5/5), service (5/5), ambience (5/5), and atmosphere (5/5) all deserve top marks.
This place feels destined for its first Michelin star it’s easily the best Indian restaurant I’ve eaten at in Germany. Absolutely amazing food, wonderful people, and an experience I’d recommend wholeheartedly to anyone who loves fine dining and authentic Indian flavors.
The manager is very friendly, attentive, and welcoming, which makes the overall experience even better. A special mention to the head chef — excellent work, as the food truly reflects skill and authenticity.
The staff is polite, professional, and provides good service throughout.
Highly recommended for anyone looking for real Indian cuisine in Munich.
Totally happy that I chose this place to celebrate. The moment we stepped into the place , we could sense that this woukd be an amazing experience.
The waiters were very kind and friendly and engaged in conversation with you. They gave us a dal soup on the house to get our tongue rolling.
We ordered mutton shanks, bread basket and tandoori. The presntation if the food was top and taste was equally good.
Surely a fine dining Indian food experience in Munich.
Tucked in a quiet corner of Munich, India Room is not your typical curry house—it’s a sensory immersion into the elegance of Indian hospitality and cuisine. From the moment you step inside, the decor sets the tone: deep teak woods, warm golden lighting, and subtle Mughal-inspired motifs that balance opulence with restraint. The atmosphere is both intimate and regal like dining in a contemporary Indian palace.
The food, simply put, is outstanding. The Royal Seekh Kebab arrived first, perfectly charred yet tender, with a spice blend that teased without overpowering. Then came the Lamb Shank Nihari, slow-cooked to perfection, the meat melting effortlessly off the bone, bathed in a rich, aromatic gravy that carried the slow depth of traditional Lucknowi kitchens.
We also tried Daulat ki Chaat, a rare Delhi winter delicacy recreated beautifully here—light, airy, and delicately sweet with just a whisper of saffron. The Mango Lassi was luscious and refreshing, and the Masala Chai at the end tied the entire meal together, comforting, fragrant, and authentically brewed.
Every dish felt like a story told with precision and pride. The staff matched the setting—warm, attentive, and genuinely passionate about the food they serve.
In short: India Room is where tradition meets sophistication, a must-visit for anyone in Munich craving Indian cuisine at its finest.
The presentation of the food is as good as a 5star hotel. The taste was as authentic as it can get. The only sad part is the price to quantity ratio. I would love to visit again but the price im paying for the portions stops me from doing so.
We had starters, main course and a tiny dessert. They restaurant even provided a small cup of mushroom soup topped with truffle oil as we waited for the starters.
We had a great experience at this restaurant, with great service and delicious food. I would really want to come again but will have to save a dime or two before booking a table.
Place recommended by a friend.
Now review time! Highly recommend Indian Room. A lovely place with a wonderful atmosphere, attentive and intentional service, and most importantly very tasty food appealing to the taste and the eyes. The flavours are not standard as most other places but much better. The place also has a pleasant smell and your clothes do not gather the smells of masalas like most other places. The atmosphere is pleasant allowing us to converse quietly. The costs are little higher than other places, which in my opinion is worth it. My only request is for it to keep up these standards.
