I really enjoyed my time here! First, the Halloween decor was fantastic — a skeleton and a big hairy spider, but done so tastefully that it felt festive rather than over the top. Inside was cozy with candles on each table, a brick wall, quirky posters, bookshelves, and card games.
I tried the orange wine, which was unique and refreshing. My partner got a cocktail called In the Cards — rye with cinnamon and cardamom — perfect for fall. We shared the fried calamari, I had the fish and chips (very good), and my partner had the mac and cheese (hearty and filling).
Overall, great vibe, good food and drinks. I’ll be back.

Such a cozy bar/restaurant. It feels both like being in a pub in the UK, as well as a nice American restaurant. The staff is super friendly, and it’s a really fun atmosphere – not overwhelming, but buzzing in a good way. Lots of little groups sharing bites. And the food was good too.

absolutely love the vibes of this restaurant. it’s very nice and cozy and intimate. whether you wanna go there with a s/o or simply a group of friends you’ll have a good time no matter what. expectational drinks, but my personal fave is the snapdragon. practically their version of a french 75. so delicious. got their french onion soup which was so good, and then we got the poutine. the poutine unfortunately was very overwhelming. no season to the fries and just smothered in cheese. it was more cheese than it was gravy, which was quite disappointing. so out of starters i wouldn’t suggest that meal but i do enjoy this restaurant!

Indoor and outdoor dining is open now. Great food and excellent service. The cheese plate was really good, especially the blue cheese. Also, the pickled veggies included fennel! One of the best fried chicken sandwiches I’ve had in a while. Finally, they sell beer, wine, and cocktails to go. Awesome time.

Went for a Friday date with my husband at our local favorite. Service is always great. Surprisingly not too busy as we were able to get a patio seat. My fish and chips were meah (can’t put my finger on it). I love my cocktails and my hubby enjoyed his beer so we had a great evening overall.

Great food and an awesome beer selection. The oysters were very good. The fish and chips got two separate thumbs up. I enjoyed the brisket sandwich. Make reservations for prime time. Parking can be painful, I went to the street behind Dunkin donuts

The atmosphere is nice – the place is cozy for seeing friends or a date – food is pretty good and the drinks are great! Service was awesome the hostess and waitress did a great job, overall a place is worth a visit. I had a buttermilk chicken sandwich with fries and honestly I would give it an 8.5 over 10.

We only had coffee and water, but it was a cup of recently made coffee. The Independent has a really nice, spacious and comfortable outdoor patio with many tables all covered by umbrellas and a great street atmosphere. For a drink, or two or just to relax for a while seems to be the ideal spot. Shout out to John who was our attentive, nice and friendly server.

Went for a date on a Tuesday night around 8 pm. The venue wasn’t crowded. Our server was Joe. Over the course of the evening he was extremely attentive and kept checking in regularly if we needed anything.
We ordered 3 apps and drinks. The fig toast is yummy, garlic shrimp too but the chicken and potato confit was meh. We also asked for more bread to soak up the garlic butter and they brought one single tiny slice haha
