If you’re reading this – YES. If you are looking for a shorter line and heartier options to satisfy a bug appetite, then this is the place. The fluffy french toast and tasty sausage patties will leave you begging for more. For solo travelers ir small groups, there is a welcoming bar top area where you can eat alone without the pressure of taking up a table. And if you are a juice purist, the apple and orange juice here should not be slept on at all.

Food was not great, way too greasy for my taste and not good quality.

Travellers, the hungry monkey is a fine breakfast/lunch restaurant in downtown Newport. The restaurant is very cute and the service is with a smile. The eggs Benedict were excellent as were the eggs Benedict florentine with spinach and tomatoes. The veggie omelet was delicious as are all the omelets here. The grits left something to be desired. They missed the mark. And the home fries were cold. But check it out. We recommend

If you’re visiting Newport RI, this is your place for excellent breakfast or lunch! The pancakes are absolutely delicious! Crispy bacon and flavorful coffee. The prices are good and the service is excellent, 100% recommend!

The Hungry Monkey is a reliable brunch spot with good-sized portions. The food arrived quickly as it wasn’t busy during my visit. However, I was confused by how bland the syrup for the pancakes was. I’m not sure if this is normal, but just a heads up.

Just here for a couple of days, we went to the black pearl, I had clam chowder, not to good. Ordered here at the hungry monkey it was fantastic. I also got the biscuits and gravy, the biscuits were fluffy and the gravy was fantastic. I get biscuits and gravy just about every place I eat breakfast and the biscuits and gravy here was easily the best I ever had. If you come to Newport you have to eat at the hungry monkey.

I usually eat at The Atlantic Grille, which has been my brunch favorite for 30+ years. I tried The Hungry Monkey last week and it was pretty good. Had the Spider Monkey w/2 eggs over easy. Service was good and I think the owner was there which is always a good sign. I just thought there was a bit too much salt(for me) in the corned beef hash and home fries. If you like a lot of salt than even better for you.
