With a passion for creating happy people and our love of coffee, we opened our first drive-thru espresso stand in Ashland Oregon in 1998. The demand for convenient, quality coffee & espresso grew and soon after opening our original location in Ashland, we expanded to surrounding cities in Southern Oregon. The Human Bean quickly established a reputation for having friendly and experienced baristas and offering the highest quality ingredients.

I’ll admit, my first visit to The Human Bean, didn’t leave the best impression—I wasn’t a fan of the drink I ordered. It tasted really watered down. However, I decided to give it another shot, and I’m so glad I did! Since then, I’ve tried several drinks, and each one has been fantastic. Their blended pistacio vanilla drink low carb is now my favorite, with the perfect balance of flavors and quality ingredients.
The staff is always so cheerful and nice. I’ve come to really enjoy this place and appreciate their attention to detail. If you’ve had a similar experience or haven’t found the right drink yet, I encourage you to give them another try—you might just be pleasantly surprised, as I was!

I gave a 5⭐️ for the benefit of the doubt. I ordered a 24oz. Iced Mocha in the drive-thru at 10:30am (Thursday). My perspective is as follows…
Drink times were a little slow considering there was a lot of people working. The cost was good (-$6) and I guess I would have to try another drink to form an honest opinion of the coffee. So far this seems to be another Dutchbros/Starbucks style place. The service was great by the initial greeter however the cashier didn’t really say much other than the total when I pulled up.
I’m really pulling for this place hoping it can offer a different experience than the surrounding competition.

The Human Bean is one of my favorite place to go to receive my morning coffee and breakfast. The staff is always friendly, especially Bris and Mari, plus the service is always fast when there is a line!! The drinks are always amazing and the is great, I can’t wait for them to add more options so I would highly recommend you go try this coffee shop!

I’ve been to multiple Human Beans on the Oregon Coast, this was not one of them. We ordered a Mocha and a Latte, and after a couple sips, we threw them both out at the Gas Station and went to Starbucks. The service was attentive, but I hate being pestered with endless questions (like Dutch Brothers) about my personal life, I only want to say good morning, order a couple drinks, wait patiently while waking up, and go about my day.
Its a new store, they’re working out the kinks, I’ll try again in 6 months.

There were maybe 4 or 5 cars in front of us, and it moved very quickly. The lady taking our order was very nice and put everything in quick. By the time we got to the window, they were already almost done with our 4 drinks. The people were very very nice, and seemed to really care about their customers. Plus the drinks were good. Overall, we’d come back!
