With a passion for creating happy people and our love of coffee, we opened our first drive-thru espresso stand in Ashland Oregon in 1998. The demand for convenient, quality coffee & espresso grew and soon after opening our original location in Ashland, we expanded to surrounding cities in Southern Oregon. The Human Bean quickly established a reputation for having friendly and experienced baristas and offering the highest quality ingredients.

I stopped by The Human Bean today and had the best experience thanks to Katherine! I wasn’t sure exactly what I wanted, so I just told her the flavors I usually love (without getting too specific), and she nailed it—she created the perfect custom drink that hit every note I was craving. It was spot-on delicious and exactly what I needed.
What really stood out was how warm and welcoming she was from the moment I pulled up. Super friendly, genuinely helpful, and made the whole interaction feel personal and fun. In a world of rushed drive-thrus, Katherine took the time to listen and make it special. If you’re in the area, ask for her—you won’t be disappointed!

I absolutely love this place.
The staff is truly amazing. They’re so kind and friendly. They also help you if it’s your first visit 🙂 The espresso is delicious and smooth. The shaken butter pecan mocha is my go-to right now.
Also, their lids are top tier lol.
Super secure and I love that for us.
I was dog sitting my friends VERY energetic fur baby & she karate kicked my cup out of my hand, my drink flew & THE LID STAYED ON. I was so impressed.
I will always return

The Human Bean is hands down one of my favorite coffee stops! The drinks are always delicious, fast, and consistent — but what really makes this place special is the staff. Katlyn is absolutely amazing! She’s friendly, welcoming, and always has the best attitude. She truly goes above and beyond to make every visit a great experience. Our family are big fans! One word…delicious! I drove up to the speaker and told them it was my first time at their establishment, a kind and entusthiastic male voice responded ” geat! drive up and I can help you choose at the window.” I drove up to the window and was greeted by a friendly young man who proceeded to ask me what type of drinks I like and then delved into a detailed explanation of the menu. As I listened I realized everything he described sounded scrumptious but I asked if he could craft a particular drink sugar free and he excitedly said yes, so I decided to order the Snowy and asked for cold foam and to my surprise they have sugar free cold foams, which is not common at coffee shops! To sum this up, the drink was absolutely delicious and the service was top notch. I felt like I had stepped into a friend’s house for coffee and not another coffee chain. Give them a try!

This was my first time stopping at The Human Bean, and it definitely won’t be my last! Laura and Katlyn were so friendly and welcoming, and they took the time to suggest the Mexi Mocha when I wasn’t sure what to order.
I’m so glad I listened — the Mexi Mocha was amazing. Rich and chocolatey with the perfect hint of spice. You can really tell it was made with care.

I rarely leave reviews, but I was so impressed with this place that I felt like I had to! I told the barista that this was my first time here, and he was incredibly kind and helped me pick something out that I would like.
I left with the jalapeño biscuit sandwich and a shaken espresso, and both were amazing. Their coffee is leagues above what you’d find at any other chain, and I will definitely be stopping by regularly 🙂

Great customer service.Really great Management especially the owner he’s amazing and is very appreciative and communicates with his customers.Every one there seems so happy to serve customers. I ordered a cinnamon roll blend and it was Amazing and different than all the other coffee places, it was so much more smoother never had a coffee blend taste like that. Very impressed, definitely will be coming back and highly recommend this place it’s different.Give this place easily 5 ⭐️

The Human Bean is a great small drive-through coffee shop! The baristas, Katlyn and Jesse, were very helpful in recommending what I should get for a small lunch and a coffee. They made my coffee in seconds and it was perfect. Super friendly people and excellent service. I would definitely come back again!

Katherine is my favorite worker ever because she was smiling so nice when I came in and even told me I was so nice. I highly recommend going to the human bean and asking for Katherine since it will make your day and week and year. Be sure to order the medium iced vanilla latte when you go because that’s what I got from Katherine and she did so good.
