With a passion for creating happy people and our love of coffee, we opened our first drive-thru espresso stand in Ashland Oregon in 1998. The demand for convenient, quality coffee & espresso grew and soon after opening our original location in Ashland, we expanded to surrounding cities in Southern Oregon. The Human Bean quickly established a reputation for having friendly and experienced baristas and offering the highest quality ingredients.

For what it’s worth, it’s a drive thru coffee place with a small selection of food- mostly consisting of some different types of breakfast meat on different types of breakfast bread; sausage and biscuit, etc.
The drinks are hit or miss. I find the coffees nice, but whatever this trend with these sorts of coffee places and having a sort of proprietary energy drink, it almost always just tastes or feels like a gross Gatorade with a sharper kick.
Always pretty phenomenal service though, and the little chocolate covered espresso bean that comes with every purchase is usually a nice little treat.

I’m obsessed with the coffee here – specifically the Hazelnut Shaken Espresso with oat milk. I drive 20 minutes from Aurora for my fix! Staff is also always very friendly. I highly recommend downloading their app for rewards. Also, the chocolate covered espresso beans are amazing!

We got two frozen esspresso’s. I added caramel to mine and it was very good but couldn’t taste coffee! The other one had no added flavor so it was pretty bland. Needs a stronger esspresso flavor!

The coffee here is delicious! Prices are GREAT! ($8 for both of our coffees and it came with a chocolate covered espresso bean on top! Service was wonderful and really quick! They have a drive through and the building is super cute! We are traveling and I wish they had one of these back home!

Hot chocolate is good but why on earth do I have to put my own butter on my bagel especially when going thru the drive-thru. I prefer them over dunkin but due to this small reason I will be going back to dunkin

I stumbled upon this coffee shop by chance. I was at another facility and as I got into my car I looked to my left and there it was. Usually I have bad experiences with bad coffee at places like this. But let me tell you this was a whole different experience. Since I had never been there before, I asked their recommendations and she politely and happily suggested their top drinks so I ended up getting one of those. When I pulled up to the window, She had a huge smile on her face and was very pleasant. She was an absolute sweetheart. They also gave me a really delicious expresso bean candy on top of my coffee which honestly totally sells me. After I got about two blocks away, I took a sip of my coffee and was in heaven. The Mexican spices were absolutely perfect and the coffee itself was delicious. I couldn’t get over how amazing it was. I called my husband to tell him I was on my way home and that I just found our new regular coffee spot. Even though we are 15 minutes away. I even went as far to call the Human Bean and tell the sweet girl what amazing coffee it was and that we will be regulars. It made her day! So I highly recommend you stopping at the human being to get your next coffee!

Great first experience here! No wait at the drive thru. Barista was helpful and recommended a delicious specialty latte (wedding cake). Loved the chocolate coffee bean touch. A bit pricey for the small size ($6.50). Will return when I’m in the area!

This place is a nice comparison to Starbucks. I always get a Pike from there and have trouble finding similar tasting coffee at other places because I find that other coffees taste bitter.
The dark roast here isn’t as strong so I don’t need as much sugar but it is certainly stronger than what I brew at home. The veggie sandwich also didn’t tear up my stomach so kudos there lol.
There is a nice window that you can walk up to or you can use the drive thru. The employees are also nice

We love the iced hot chocolate. The employees are always smiling and nice. The “little bean” on the top of the cup is my son’s favorite part!

They have so many sugar free syrups it makes me cry all the happy tears. I was able to redeem a free drink up to 10 bucks so this bad baby was 9.95.
