Sugar World is truly a gem!
This restaurant is filled with warmth and hospitality. The food is always fresh, delicious, and made with care. You’re treated like family the moment you walk in, and the atmosphere feels just like home. The owners themselves attend to customers, which makes the experience even more special — their kindness and genuine attention really stand out.
There is plenty of parking, a wide variety of food to choose from, and every visit is consistently excellent. Thank you for always offering such wonderful food and unforgettable service.

They’ve lost good customers three times, and there are never any meat empanadas! After I go down and ask, and we place the order, it’s the same as always! No meat empanadas! Not even an apology. Terrible service for owners! Always making us look bad where we come from! A place without bathrooms? Problems with the city.

About the Location:
Nestled in Aventura, Sugar World defies its misleading name to emerge as a hidden gem for authentic arepas seekers. Despite its small size, the restaurant offers a cozy ambiance perfect for indulging in Venezuelan cuisine.
About the Food:
During our visit, we savored a variety of dishes including arepas, tequeno, and Argentinian empanadas. The reina pepiada arepa stole the spotlight, accompanied by a tantalizing green sauce that elevated its flavors to new heights. The freshly baked empanada boasted a flavorful crust filled with tender chicken, while the tequeno, resembling a pastry, offered a unique combination of guava and cheese that wasn’t overly sweet. To complement our meal, we enjoyed well-crafted coffees that rounded off the experience perfectly. In summary, Sugar World is a true hidden gem for arepa enthusiasts, offering a delightful culinary journey that warrants a well-deserved four-star rating. We eagerly anticipate our next visit to explore more of its tantalizing menu offerings.

First of all ! Let me start by saying I’m 100% Venezuelan . I’m writing this review for my English speaking people . Ana was our server/counter person today ! She was Amazing , very friendly , very honest , and always on top to make sure we were ok and had what we needed . She made a couple of suggestions of plates and she emphasized that the Arepas are big and pretty stuffed, take her word because they are ! Let me start with the apps that we had. The Venezuelan beef empanadas and tequeños , very fresh , hot , tasty and cooked to perfection . The cilantro sauce for the empanadas it’s the closest u can get to the Venezuelan authentic green sauce AKA Guasacaca . Extra points for the sauce because it was yummy ! Cortadito , cafe latte , very good ! We also had 2 arepas , the beef Arepa and the pernil arepa . Although it’s not very typical that they add pico de Gallo the taste nevertheless it’s delicious . Now , the beef arepa it’s shredded beef , just heads up , it’s thin chunks of meat , I have to say I was very impressed of how delicious it was . The crunchiness of the arepa, texture and well cook , was just perfect , the size portion it’s big . Double think if you are having 2 arepas . Overall I give this place so much credit , the place it’s clean, the food it’s very authentic , extremely delicious , and very welcoming people working in the back , to make sure your food comes out fast ! Thank you for everything Ana ! Gracias por todo !

Sugar World is a local family owned Cafe with excellent food and service! I’ve been coming here almost every morning for over 2 years now! I love their spinach empanadas and their Arepas are amazing. The food is always fresh and made with love!
I haven’t ordered for a party yet but they offer many of their items in small snack/party sizes. Will not disappoint! If you’re in a rush just call ahead and make sure what you crave is made if not they will prepare it before your arrival.

Disgusting and over priced! Don’t waste your hard earned money here. My empanada was cold on the inside. I always pass it and wanted to try it. Lost a good customer.

The empanada was delicious. The cilantro sauce should be on everything. All the breakfasts were big and came with tiny coffee which was delicious.

Really good food at a reasonable price considering the price of everything in the area. I recommend an arepa! There really is not much room inside, but the people who are there are friendly.
