With a passion for creating happy people and our love of coffee, we opened our first drive-thru espresso stand in Ashland Oregon in 1998. The demand for convenient, quality coffee & espresso grew and soon after opening our original location in Ashland, we expanded to surrounding cities in Southern Oregon. The Human Bean quickly established a reputation for having friendly and experienced baristas and offering the highest quality ingredients.

I come here pretty often to get smoothies but I will not be returning. The young lady at the window was very rude! When she handed me my drink I noticed it was whipped cream on top and I asked for no whipped cream. She immediately got annoyed with me which I find very rude when I’m spending my money! I’ve never had a problem here before and I will it again because I won’t be back! And I asked for a refund because I refuse to give my hard earned money to a business where they let the employees disrespect the customers! I asked for no whip cream and the guy offered to scoop it out of the cup instead of making it fresh from the start of the issue. Poor leadership and it lets the employees know that they can continue to treat customers how they like! I haven’t received a refund as of the 27 of January and they did not give me a refund receipt. So I’ll only know when I get a notification from my bank which hasn’t happened as of yet.

We came across this place while staying at my mother in laws for the weekend and decided to try it on a whim! We did not try any of the food items but the Granita iced coffees will leave you wanting more! The drink sizes are huge and they were perfectly sweet and delicious. I would definitely visit again!

This was my first time at this location. I tried their ‘signature drink’. The first thing I noticed was that there was no caramel drizzle throughout the drink/in the cup as they advertise. I hate it when a drink is advertised one way and given to me a completely different way. One of the main reasons I ordered this drink was for the caramel. It was an ok tasting drink, but I definitely would not order it again.
I also ordered a breakfast sandwich. The bacon, egg, gouda ciabatta. This was a complete disappointment when I pulled it out of the bag. I can’t believe they’re charging over $5 for it! Does it taste good? Yes. Is it worth a dollar a bite? Absolutely not! And there’s hardly any bacon on it. This was not worth the money.

Delicious coffee with a cute little candied espresso bean on top yummy yummy! I love the iced mexi(Mexican hot chocolate). If you’re hungry try the spinach feta pretzel wrap. You won’t be disappointed!

I’m mad it took me so long to try it! I’m obsessed with this little treasure so close to home! I honestly prefer this over Starbucks! The friendliest staff, fresh fun and yummy products! That staff alone could keep us coming back, they’re personable and funny! The Carmel granita is my favorite thing to get, and their cold brews are pretty amazing too. Can’t wait to try more things on their menu!

Favorite coffee shop hands down! My go to is the Maple Waffle Sandwich. My favorite smoothies are the Strawberry Banana or the Green Tea! The staff is always extra nice and have never messed up an order!

The Human Bean is a great little locally owned coffee shop! Each time I’ve gone, the wait has been minimal and the employees super friendly. I highly recommend the spinach and feta melt; I tried it for the first time yesterday and am considering another visit today… The coffees I’ve tried have been great! And love the cute little chocolate covered coffee bean on each one.
