We happened upon The Hound Lounge our first night ever in Asheville. The food sounded great so after our drive from NE Ohio we were hungry, casual and decided to pop in. Being dog lovers, we picked the right place no doubt! The atmosphere and vibe were very welcoming and comfortable and dog friendly. Grab a table and place your order. Simple and fast!
The food was amazing! A fresh and flavorful change of pace from our usual heavy Italian foods from home. We got the Poke bowl, Loco Moco and the Ceviche and a side of Kimchi. The Kimchi was the best we’ve ever had! We will definitely be back the next time we make it to Asheville.

The Hound is such a gem. The menu is a really delicious Latin-Asian fusion with creative, well-balanced flavors that feel both interesting and comforting. Everything we tried was excellent, and the cocktails were just as good—thoughtfully made and not overly sweet.

The vibe is quiet and relaxed, which made it a great place to actually enjoy conversation and take our time with the meal. If you’re looking for flavorful food, great drinks, and a calm atmosphere, The Hound is absolutely worth a visit.

This place is awesome. Very casual “seat yourself and order at the bar” spot but with food better than most sit down restaurants. Ambience is also a cool vibe. I ordered the Hawaiian Garlic Shrimp and a Mule. I was floored by how good the shrimp dish was. The drink was also perfect. Spent $45 after tax and tip. Will 100% come back next time I am in Ashville.

The Hound is one of East Asheville’s best surprises. Tucked away but full of charm, this spot delivers way beyond what you’d expect — from creative bar bites, full meals, to a welcoming, laid-back atmosphere that makes you want to stay awhile.

The food from Bonito Kitchen in The Hound is standout: fresh, flavorful, and clearly crafted with care. Pair that with solid drinks, attentive staff, and a vibe that feels equal parts neighborhood bar and foodie destination, and you’ve got a winner.

If you haven’t made your way to The Hound yet, put it on your list. It’s a true East Asheville gem that proves great things happen when food, drink, and community come together.

We brought our dog Hank (120 pound mastiff) in and were immediately greeted with a smile we figured we had to sit outside but were also offered to sit inside. They went ahead and started a fire for us promptly and Joy took really good care of us. Food was great, fast and drinks were the same.

After a delightful tasting at Gingers revenge, we went here for dinner. The bartender at Gingers revenge highly recommended it. She was not wrong.
Every dish on the menu sounded delicious. I finally chose a random dish and as expected, it was great!
Drinks are also great there…and the Service and Atmosphere was on point.
Highly recommend this place.

Melissa was able to tell it was our first time there and made it feel like home immediately. I mean the pictures just don’t do justice to how flavorful and amazing the food actually was. We spent about 20 minutes reading the menus because it was too hard to decide. Spacious overall lounge areas, very welcoming, and chill

The kimchi slaw is a great snack to have with one of their local beers. I’m not vegetarian or gluten free but they had a lot of options that fit these diets that I think I would enjoy (including the kimchi slawI did get and love), so it will work great for a group with mixed diet requirements/preferences. At least half of the food options are either vegetarian and/or gluten free. (Menu photos attached from August 2025).

Hidden gem! When it first opened I thought – that’ll be out of business in 3 months. But then the parking lot kept getting busier so I had to check it out. WOW – they’ve done a fantastic job with an old bus depot! Service, drinks, food were all over the top good!!!

Wow what an unassuming place, the restaurant is beautiful with great outdoor seating and thoughtful indoor. Have somehow never been here but went tonight with my girlfriend and had a great time. Prices are incredibly fair for what they offer. The bar staff was all great Melissa was thoughtful and full of poise as were all the staff but only got her name. The short rib was great and my girlfriend had the stir fry dish and loved it too. This place could charge 20-40 percent more and I’d still come.
