This was my second visit. Great place to meet with friends and listen to live music. I see a the American equivalent of a British pub, but much more colorful and cozy. Good selection of tasty comfort food, excellent service, good assortment of draft beers, pool table next to a generously sized area for bands and open mics to play. I have seen a cozy and colorful outdoor patio area, but in both of my visits the rain prevented enjoying it.

Railroad themed, tavern style bar in the bottom level of a local, extended stay inn. Steps from the Dutchess County Rail Trail. Down home feeling and working class atmosphere. Not unusual to see the prison guards and Sanatation workers or the local Bishops grabbing a drink after work. This bar always seems busiest for after-work happy hour specials. While they offer a full bar and have experienced bartenders, this is the place you go for 2$ domestic cans or an order or chicken fingers. This is one of my personal favorite places to go when you need the “Cheers” everybody is always glad you came experience.

First time at this place they had a band, a food truck, outdoor and indoor drinking and plenty of bar games. The staff was very friendly, the drinks were very cheap and although this is a cash only bar they do have ATM which is convenient. This is a local bar but anyone looking for a chill spot to have some cheap priced drinks and have a good time this is your place for sure.

Brian is the best!!! We come here for him so respectable, attentive and a normal human being that isn’t all about money. A fabulous addition to this bar

The Hopewell Inn advertises themselves as the oldest bar in Dutchess County, but that’s a lie. The Beekman Arms is over 100 years older. I give The Hopewell Inn 1 star for lying.

Never ate there, in fact didn’t even know they had food, but bartenders are great. Beer selection is solid, have plenty of spirits to choose from. Never had a bad time

This place is pretty awesome & doesn’t try to be something it’s not. It’s a true local dive bar that has been around longer than I’ve been a live. When you walk inside you’re transported back in time to the days when bars provided more than just a place for people to get drunk. They have so many old school games & the largest shuffle board I’ve ever seen! I even caught a glimpse of an ancient artifact (pictured) while scoping the place out. How cool is it that they still have a pay phone?!?! Yes, it was a bummer that it didn’t actually work, but still!!

Amy and the crew are the best! I hadn’t been in the hopewell inn, since I was a kid really, grew up in hopewell, my older brother Matt, was in here a lot…lol. I was shocked to see the bar was moved. But the atmosphere hadn’t changed at all. Still a friendly home town bar. 11 outa 10 !
