I just love this place !!
Excellent service , kind , fast and attentive.
Took us 30 min aprox to get seated I understand it’s was a busy Saturday late night but he waited.
We ordered BBQ fries with deli pulled
Pork yummy came fast and extra yummy
Ordered 9 oz hamburger steak with gravy , onions and peppers with a loaded potato and Mac / hushapuppies . Delicious !!!!! And so much food
My husband ordered a country fried steak with beans and Mac / toast
We couldn’t finish!! The portions were very generous and delicious!!!!
It’s worth the drive ( from SC) and the wait !!!
We ll be back soon!!!

If comfort food and good vibes ever had a rowdy little love child, its name would be Hoot Nannie. From the moment we walked in, it felt like stepping straight into the coziest Southern restaurant/bar if that grandma also had a killer playlist, a sassy sense of humor, and a talent for feeding people until they’re blissfully immobile.
The food? Spectacular. Every plate that came out looked like it had been handcrafted by angels who apprenticed in a BBQ smokehouse. The portions were the perfect mix of generous and “you’re definitely taking leftovers home and happily eating them cold at midnight.” And the flavors? Mercy. One bite in and you’re suddenly questioning why you ever wasted calories anywhere else.
The staff deserves special mention (Jada) friendly, hilarious, and quicker than a hummingbird after a double espresso. They made the whole meal feel like a celebration, even though all we celebrated was how fast we could inhale dinner.
Whether you’re craving hearty home cooking, a place to laugh with friends, or just a restaurant with a name that’s as fun to say as it is to eat at, Hoot Nannie absolutely delivers. Five stars, two thumbs up, and one very happy, very full customer.

Had a pretty good experience. Atmosphere gives off average bar vibes. Service received was great as could be with only one waitress and one hostess running the whole place by themselves when it was busy. Food was really good especially this far out from city chefs. Recommend to a friend.

An amazing experience. 1st it’s important to know this was a weekend holiday outing. The town was busy busy and every place was full. We had to wait and we are super cool with that. You were able to leave and they would text you and give you a 10 min grace period.
Our waitress was on point! Didn’t rush us and had patience for our questions even though the place was hopping. Wings were spectacular. Chicken sandwhich, Philly, and the Sanchez were all great. Beers are $4. You can’t get better than that.
All the staff was supporting each other. A very well oiled machine. I’m in Lake Lure and next time I’m out there I’m going back. Perhaps I’ll make the trip just to show another friend when it’s secretly for me lol

My husband and I recently had the opportunity to visit the Hoot Nannie restaurant. We love this place and know we will be back. We are new in town and have been visiting restaurants as well as other sites for entertainment.
Juli was our server, and she was fantastic! She provided excellent menu recommendations and had the perfect amount of attentiveness. Her energy and helpfulness made for a top-notch experience. In addition to her taking care of us at the restaurant, when we mentioned we were new in town, she went the extra mile in sharing with us information about things to do in town and places to visit.
She was amazing! I know we will be back to visit the restaurant and hopefully have the good fortune of being at one of Juli’s tables again. It is a rare treat today to find service this genuine!

We were visiting Forest City and found Hoot Nannie on a google search. We had an amazing time. My 6 year old LOVED the green beans and cheese curds, chicken tenders and the burgers were a close second. We enjoyed the environment and the great service.

1st place I tried in Forest City after moving here 2 years ago. The bartender at the time was amazing and remembered your name. The food is delicious and beer cold. I regularly go for Thursday wings night. Juli-Andra is by far my favorite waitress. She always has a smile on her face with a great sense of humor, and provides top notch service at all times.

We ate outside and got great service! Karissa is an amazing waitress she helped with figuring out what our 7 children would like because we had never been there before, most of which chose the Monte Cristo lunch special which taste just like the fair! Their food was delicious and we will definitely be going again! Highly recommend! Great and clean service and great atmosphere! Thank you again Karissa for making our experience that much better!
