I read the review and had to see for myself — and let me tell you, it did not disappoint!
The complimentary homemade bread with garlic butter was unforgettable, warm and rich with flavour. The appetizers were so fresh, you could taste the care that went into each one. The chicken steak was incredibly tender and juicy, cooked to perfection. We enjoyed everything so much that we ended up trying the pasta too — and it was just as impressive. Every dish was freshly crafted by Chef Jesie, and his skill really shines through.

Our steaks were grade A , tender & delicious. He had the Ribeye & I had the Filet Mignon. Best we have had in years. Take a nice pocket book, they are not cheap, but we’ll worth it. Nice waitresses.

Waited an hour after we were seated for our food. Husband ordered chicken strips and fries. Fries were cold but the chicken strips were pretty good. I order a side salad and it was brought to our table after he was almost finished eating. Salad was fine just very late. Tea is very weak and hardly any ice. Ask for half and half tea but I think it was just sweet. Bathroom is male/female (I prefer an all female bathroom) and it was very dirty. Our service was terrible and if she was new (I don’t know) her co-worker wasn’t helping her train her at all that I could tell. The other server seems very efficient. Wouldn’t recommend or go back. Maybe they just need more cooks in the kitchen and a few more servers.

The special they had was chicken Alfredo and it tasted like all of it came out of a can. The owner wasn’t very pleased about having a complaint and said he wouldn’t even feed his dog this crap. Good tenderloin. Could season the meat or breading more. Hand cut fries are great if they aren’t over cooked, These were. Overall great place, wonderful staff for being in a small community. A lot to love in central MO. I’d love for them to be in my small community. I’ll be back to try a burger next time I’m through town.

My first visit was today for lunch, and I was greeted like a regular. Everyone was very friendly!
The atmosphere and decor are awesome with some historical touches.
I ordered the breaded pork tenderloin sandwich with onion rings. The tenderloin was massive and well made with good seasoning and a crispy coating. The onion rings were excellent as well. It was very reasonably priced for what I got.
I can’t wait to try some of their other menu items.

The Hoof Steakhouse had very friendly staff and delicious food! We are new to town and stopped in here for Lunch, we can’t wait to come back and try some other items on the menu! You get plenty of food and at a good price.

Had fried dill pickle appetizer with ranch. Very good. We both ordered prime rib. I rarely do because I’m frequently disappointed with cuts that are way too fatty. This was not the case. It was an AMAZING cut!! The au jus was delicious, and we also had creamy horseradish for dipping. I ordered the 10-ounce cut, my husband got the 14–that was too much, so he’s feeling overfull now.
Our server, Dakota, was very friendly, attentive, and fast. Wonderful, delicious dinner!

Stopped here simply because it looked great as I drove by… Server was very friendly and working hard. The grilled tenderloin is probably the best I’ve ever had, and that’s coming from someone from Iowa… Worth a visit if you’re near Madison, MO.
