Quantity: 25 people. Total Cost: $211.75 for food & tax. I added a gratuity of $10, all of which was paid for upon ordering. Firstly; when my husband went to pick the order up with a printed copy of the order/ receipt, the order #, and the amount paid… the employee brought out 2 different orders (one at a time). One had ham sandwiches, the other was a meat/cheese platter, Finally, the 3rd order brought out were the 2 meat trays that I ordered. None of the orders brought out had identifiers (ie, name, order #, or whether or not it was already paid for). The employee had to make a phone call to a supervisor to verify that the order was in fact already paid for! When he brought the order home I was shocked at the small amount of meat on the trays! We weighed the 2 trays, including the large amount of lettuce (for presentation) and two plastic trays with lids totaled … EIGHT POUNDS!!! That means approximately 3 ounces of meat per person… At a cost of approximately $25 per pound!!! This is totally outrageous!!! The only positive is that both the ham and turkey tasted great. Just know that I will NEVER be doing business with The Honey Baked Company ever again!!!
First visit (Dec. 26): I tried to use my rewards, which were expiring in two days, to order a sandwich. The employees claimed they weren’t making lunch items until after the holidays (post-New Year’s). This was news to me, and I left frustrated, feeling like my trip was wasted. Interestingly, I was able to order lunch online the very next day, proving that the employee had either lied or didn’t know their own policies.
Second visit (Dec. 27): I placed an online order at 1 p.m. for a 1:30 p.m. pickup. I arrived at 1:45 p.m., only to find the store completely empty of customers. The two employees were standing around idle. I expected a quick in-and-out experience, but my order hadn’t even been started! It was clear they hadn’t checked online orders until I walked in.
It took 15 minutes to make my salad. As I was leaving, another customer arrived, clearly upset, because her order—placed at 11:30 a.m.—wasn’t ready either. It was 2 p.m. at that point!
This store seems utterly disorganized and uninterested in providing even basic customer service. Each visit involved different employees, but the experience was consistently bad. Whether it’s misinformation or a complete lack of effort, this location is asleep at the wheel.
****UPDATE FOLLOWING OWNER’S RESPONSE***
I initially appreciated the owner’s response to my original review. Unfortunately, their reply to my email turned out to be nothing more than a hollow attempt at damage control.
I sent an email as requested and after receiving no reply, I followed up four days later and included a read receipt. That’s when I discovered my email had been deleted without even being read.
This experience has solidified my opinion of this store’s operations. The poor service I received during my visits clearly reflects the lack of accountability and care at the ownership level. They aren’t interested in resolving customer issues—just in appearing like they do.
If you’re looking for reliable service or a business that values its customers, I strongly recommend you take your business elsewhere.
MAYBE, I’ll try a different location but this was truly not a great experience .
I was disappointed and taken aback on Thanksgiving morning, November 28 to find a best buy date of November 25. The interaction with the store manager, J. Bourdin) was and quite nonproductive. I was hung up on when trying to resolve the matter. Upon phoning back I requested a refund. I was asked if I had the food items. I brought them back and again requested a refund and was asked if all the food was in the bag. It was. I was informed I would only get a store credit. That was not my choice because of the date of the meat.
The manager became combative after my husband requested a refund. He threatened to call the police and told my spouse I was cursing and rude. There was no truth to his statement.
I am disappointed as to the lack of a resolution. I will not be a customer of this establishment again. I chose to resolve this matter with the corporate office.
