My first call was pointless. I was told there were no records of any orders and that the owner, Mr. Pete, would call me on Monday. He never did. When I called again today (Wednesday) I was handed a random personal phone number with zero explanation. When I asked who it belonged to or if it was corporate, Ogretta, the “manager” is in the background yelling, “Do you want your money back or not?!”—as if customers are an inconvenience. Completely unacceptable.
Even the day they announced to an entire line of people that they had run out of holiday orders, the staff couldn’t bother to show basic professionalism or an apology. This was the day before Thanksgiving, by the way.
Then, when I called the number they gave me, I was told again they had no record of orders and that I needed to text proof from my bank account and the confirmation email. Ogretta was once again yelling things in the background. When I questioned her attitude, she replied, “You had an attitude first,” then hung up on me. My tone was firm—because I was being given the runaround—not disrespectful. The disrespect came entirely from their side.
The worst part? The person I was told to call, Sharon or Cheryl, was standing in the store the entire time cashing out customers and taking orders. Why would I need to call her personal cell phone when she was right there? That level of disorganization is beyond ridiculous.
I wasn’t even furious about them running out of product—although that alone shows how poorly this place is run. What pushed this over the edge was the absolute circus of misinformation, attitude, and incompetence that followed.
This store needs a completely new team and new leadership, because the way it operates right now is embarrassing and guarantees customers will take their business elsewhere. YOU HAVE ALL BEEN WARNED.
***I will also edit to say Sharon or Cheryl ended up calling me back as I was on the phone with my bank to dispute the charge, and she did refund my card for my prepaid order at that time (10 or so minues later). I will wait a few days to make sure it hits, but at least she tried to smooth things over, unlike Ogretta who was doing nothing but aggravating the situation. The bigger issue here is that the staff is not only unprofessional, but they are not equipped to see previous orders for refunds if needed. If they were, that may have been able to solve the back and forth and frustration.
About this location though, I never have issues. Stop in all the time for lunch and have no problems. Also, they MADE my Thanksgiving just by a few turkey slices. All I needed. You all have lost touch of reality, and it shows.
While the staff was pleasant and courteous, the company needs a better system to ensure preorders are filled. My family was looking forward to our traditional smoked turkey for dinner, and this experience was unacceptable, especially after waiting 10-15 minutes only to be told there were no smoked turkeys available. Then, after agreeing to take the roasted turkey, it took another 15 minutes to receive it.
I hope The Honey Baked Company can improve their order fulfillment process to prevent this from happening in the future.
