My wife grew up outside Detroit, less than a mile from the original Honey Baked Ham store. Her family would get a large ham or two for holidays and also send them to a neighbor or family member as a bereavement gift.
After we were married, we continued this tradition for many years. The quality of the meat is always great; we even use the bone for split pea soup. Folks that receive a ham always thank us and tell us how the food helped fill gaps when people at the house were hungry or when visitors stopped in to pay their respects.
Always a win-win!
Now that there are fewer stores, I had to order one and pick it up, and deliver the ham to friends of ours. I was disappointed to learn that only frozen hams could be delivered by the store.

10/26/23 Thursday came here around 11:40 am for lunch because the ham is so good! The customer service was excellent and Ana was welcoming and friendly! I ordered the Ham & cheddar biscuits and I ordered the classic ham & cheese sandwich classic on a croissant. The ham & cheese sandwich was perfect the ham is so delicious the croissant tasted fresh and you get a good portion of ham on your sandwich. I got the meal also chips and a drink. If you want to seat and eat plenty of tables and it’s very clean inside. Definitely need to get a ham for Thanksgiving at this place also!

The Norwood Honey Baked Ham store no longer knows how to cook ham!! They no longer show you the ham when you pick it up and the one they gave me was totally burnt! The glaze was black, the outer ring of the meat was black and the ham dry and tough! I have been getting a Christmas ham there for more than 10 years and they used to be great. Ruined my family Christmas dinner. They tried to give me a replacement but both of the hams they had, while slightly better, had the glaze over cooked and melted off and the outside of the meat was black and looked dry. Time for a new tradition, very disappointing.

Loved the Ham we bought, and so did the entire family. It came out sweet and tender, I placed unsweetened Dole pineapple slices on top of the ham for flavor and tenderness, but it’s not necessary. Very good tasting but more expensive than the grocery store, Definitely worth it. We only buy it for special occasions, and the entire family always takes any leftovers home. Very costly 12 dollars a pound and before they would unwrap it slightly so you could see what you were buying but no longer do they do that. My ham exterior was very burnt.
