This was our first visit and we really enjoyed it! The cinnamon roll was delicious, as was the breakfast wrap with the cheddar crust. Let me tell you that I had no idea what to expect with the cheddar crust and I was not disappointed! In fact, I really hope it will still be on the menu when we go back because it was delicious. I could only finish half and then heated up the other half in the air fryer the next morning and it was just as good!

The cappuccino was so flavorful and creamy, and the breakfast was perfect. I had the omelet which had the perfect balance of goat cheese to butternut squash and the egg alone was so fluffy and tasty. The breakfast potatoes are my new favorite! They managed to get them so crispy on the outside and so melty and creamy on the inside. The salad really rounded out the dish and brought some fresh brightness to the plate. I didn’t need to add a thing to anything, it was delicious the way it came. I wish I lived closer so I could come here again to try their other items!

My fiancée and I were in the area and needed a good breakfast spot, this place did not disappoint and now I’m sad we live so far away! (Honestly I’d make the 2.5 hour drive just to eat here!)

We both had cappuccinos and the omelette with breakfast potatoes.

The food alone deserves to be in a 5 star restaurant. The potatoes were crispy on the outside and super soft on the inside, didn’t need any ketchup on it. The omelette was also to die for, the eggs alone were so fluffy, paired with the creamy goat cheese and sweetness of the butternut squash, it was amazing.

Even the cappuccino was delicious, something you’d see in a super fancy coffee joint.

I’m normally a quick eater, but this food and cappuccino made me slow down and enjoy every single bite. Would HIGHLY recommend!

Adorable restaurant – loved the vibe here. It was a very busy Wednesday night! Place filled with couples, families, friends, and even solo diners. My friend wanted to try the burger – doesn’t it look delicious? Her fries were handcut to die for! I tried the chicken schnitzel. Large portion – salad was so fresh! Chicken was very flavorful. We both enjoyed the place and so much food, we had to bring doggie boxes home with us. Nice choices on menu, plenty to choose from. We had NO room for dessert, but their lavendar creme brulee would have made it to our table if we did!

We went for brunch. The menu was limited but all options looked great! The whole table really enjoyed their meal. The clear favorite was the burger. The salad was a clear second. The bloody Mary’s were excellent as well.

Absolutely amazing hidden gem! Our family met and stayed in Palmyra and when looking for a local place to try we landed on Hog & Hen after looking at reviews. It exceeded our expectations! Our group of 6 met for drinks and shared a few dishes. Coming from Toronto, this place was a foodie’s dream. Simple menu done incredibly well. The variety of flavours, the cook of the fish, the drinks – our taste buds were so happy. Alex served us for the evening and the chef made a personal appearance, both so kind and personable. We were thrilled to give our praises in-person and have a great conversation. If we lived closer this would be a regular spot, for those that do, we’re jealous! If you haven’t tried it yet, support this establishment!

So, first I want to say the owner(?) and her children are the SWEETEST people. The place is also drop dead gorgeous. However, the food was pretty awful. We got chicken and waffles and my kid couldn’t even eat the waffles. There was some odd taste, and around us a lot of plates looked the same. Their sausage was AMAZING! So was there potato’s! The other issue I had was, if your children are going to be helping serve/playing in the dining room (no issues, I get it!), you need to have a kids menu then. If you’re going for super nice brunch aesthetic, you can’t have kids running around. If you do, just throw a few thing on a kids menu:)

Excellent service and food made with genuine love. We had the savory and sweet chicken and waffles with hot honey and it paired so well together with the Swiss chard. The burger and fries were also solid and I appreciate a place the level of attention put into the fries, rather than thinking of them as an after thought like most restaurants. We were just passing through from out of state so I hope the locals support this place because it is well worth it!

The decor is beautiful, music selection great, and the restaurant is very clean. Waitstaff are friendly and eager to help. I ordered the breakfast potatoes and was very pleased at the taste and amazing texture- super crispy outside, and then the inside was just a lovely smush, not what I was expecting when I ordered potatoes. I was sort of expecting hash browns, not lovely giant chunks of potatoes, but I’m pleased with my choice. It’s served with a house-made aioli sauce that has a mild flavor that doesn’t overwhelm the spices on the potatoes.

I’ve now returned for dinner service and have received exactly what I expected- personable service, quality food, and a beautiful atmosphere. My mother-in-law got the nightly special of chicken which was wonderfully moist with a light and fragrant gravy, and I got the steak paired with a lovely cabernet sauvignon. The bread platter appetizer was beyond my expectations, with an entire roasted garlic bulb and honey butter that wasn’t overly sweet. The star of the show is anything potato based for me, though, to be honest. The way the breakfast potatoes were done and the way the fries were done have just ruined potatoes from other places for me. This is an absolutely lovely place to go, and you’re supporting a local, family-owned business. I will come back here every time I am in Palmyra.

Incredible mom and pop restaurant. Some of the best potatoes I’ve ever had, amazing meat and veg options, great atmosphere. One of the best brunches I’ve had in Rochester, need to come back for dinner!
