This place had some of the best brisket I’ve ever had. It was tender, meaty and flavorful. For lunch, it wasn’t crowded at all. Their sauces were great including the blueberry BBQ sauce which was a new one for me. It was a bit pricey for a BBQ place, but there was way more food than we could eat.

What a treat and a gem of a place. Stopped for lunch on a Saturday around noon. Fairly well rounded menu as expected front a BBQ place. I had the Brisket plate. A generous serving and the meat was awesome. Half dozen choices for sauce that are house made. Service was excellent, staff friendly. Historic building put back in to service was decorated nicely. If you like BBQ I recommend a stop. It also appears they have adult beverages as well.

Cool looking place, good service, below average food. We split a combo for one and it was plenty of food for us. The ribs…cold and tough, seemed like they maybe needed a few more hours in the smoker. The sausage tasted good but it didn’t have much smoke flavor. The chopped beef was also lacking flavor. The coleslaw was average too. Sadly the best thing on the platter was the frozen okra they fried. Maybe I’m spoiled from eating good barbecue in the south but this doesn’t measure up to true BBQ IMO.

Met family for lunch. The service was excellent! The food was good-a little salty for my taste, but it could have just been me, I didn’t say anything, so by no means too much.

The BBQ was excellent! Great smokey flavor and very tender and juicy. The service was ok but mostly the experience was tarnished by the super annoying hard rock music (Van Halen and AC/DC.) It’s really a shame. We drove all the way from Angel Fire for BBQ and would like to want to again… But probably won’t.

Pulled pork was very dry way over cooked and my baked sweet potato had rotten spots, fried okra was very good. Husband said chicken fried steak was decent. Girlfriend said brisket was dry and overcooked. Barbecue sauces were very sweet.

There is so much I want to say about this place. Nothing I say would do it justice. It’s truly something you have to experience for yourself!! Absolutely 5 star and bring an appetite!

The Historic Ice House is a site to behold. Indoor and out it has lots of memorabilia to set the atmsophere. The service was friendly and fast, the lemonade had virtually no sweetness, the hamburger was excellent, the french fries merely warm and way too limp.

Great place with historic interest. Food was good. Sauces were great. Green beans made my Appalachain Mawmaw come back from the dead to scold me for saying they were as good as hers. Friendly service.

For the past 4 years my family has been eating at this restaurant. I have heard how wonderful it is. I even got a jar of Blueberry BBQ sauce for mother’s day last year. My first disappointment was that it wasn’t open last year when we were in town but nothing could top the bad experience I had today. I was given the option of IceHouse or KBobs. Of course I picked Ice House. I was anxious to find out what this wonderful place was all about. I opted to share the combo plate for 2. The service was absolutely aweful. We were seated and were served our drinks. I wanted lemon for my tea but our server did not check on us nor did she bring out our salad before the meal. We sat waiting patiently however after a good 30 minutes of being ignored my husband went in search for the invitation server. When she was finally located he was informed that it had only been 38 minutes since our order was submitted. Miraculously the order was ready as he turned and walked away. The combo for 2 did not look appetizing as the ribs were dry. We were told it was a “dry rub” the hot links were cold and wrinkled and the chopped brisket was also cold. The Mac n cheese was cold and dry and the salad which was spring mix and a tomato slice was served with the meal instead of before. We ordered mashed potatoes with a baked potato setup which had sour cream mixed in with cheese and cream gravey on top (what baked potato comes with gravey?) Of course no server came to see if everything was ok so my husband took the food back toward the bar where the servers were standing around BSing. The server took the food and rather than refiring the order brought it back. When she was asked if it had been microwaved she replied in a snotty manner “Absolutely”. We then asked to speak to the manager who was just rude and argumentative and informed us that she had touched our food to check it. (Huh? You touched our food?) She continued to argue and be mouthy toward us and when we asked for pur ticket so we could leave she continued to raise her voice offering us her resume informing us she has managed several restaurants and insurance. We paid our bill and asked to speak to the owner. The owner couldn’t be bothered to speak to us. Needless to say we walked away frustrated, disappointed and hungry. Next time, I’m sure to go to K-Bobs. All the tears.
