The restaurant is elegant and romantic, which is perfect for a date night or just a nice evening out with family or friends. We started with an appetizer of meatballs, which was perfectly seasoned and a great start to the evening. Our entrees were Lamb Chops and Strip Steak, both very tender and delicious. The Blueberry Crumble dessert was amazingly tasty and a great end to our meal.
Service at the Highlawn was amazing. Shakira, the host, and our server Charles, are both outstanding and add to the wonderful experience at the restaurant.
Apps: smoked black cod roll was SENSATIONAL! The smokiness was perfectly balanced and tied the other parts of the sushi together perfectly. The soft shell crab was also delightful but I enjoyed the smoked black cod better.
Sugar snap peas was perfectly cooked and not over seasoned and had a lovely crispness. The whipped mash was a pleasure.
Porterhouse was impressive and worth the price.
Dessert was also perfection. I think I’ll be back here many more times

My family has a long history of dinner celebrations at The Highlawn, and this year we added a wedding reception!!! Spectacular views of New York City , and it neighbors the stinning 9/11 Memorial – best location in Northern NJ! The venue, service and views are 5 Star !!!
Our server was nick, very attentive, great service by him, thank you for the staff who make our dinner more special by surprising gesture.
The food was nothing short of delicious—each dish was expertly prepared, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. Our guests couldn’t stop raving about the quality of the meal.
The service was equally outstanding. The staff was incredibly polite, attentive, and professional, ensuring that everyone was well taken care of throughout the event. They went above and beyond to make the day seamless and stress-free.
If you’re looking for an elegant venue with amazing food, top-notch service, and a stunning view, I highly recommend Highlawn Pavilion. It made my baby shower unforgettable!
Can’t wait to go back for dinner and host another event here!
We loved providing balloon décor here for a special celebration ✨

This was a pre fixe menu. First thing they do, is take your order for all four courses to make the night seamless and allow you uninterrupted time with your partner. I appreciated this, at least in theory.
First two courses came as ordered. But the third order took our service THREE times and 35-40 minutes to get right. THREE TIMES the server got our 3rd course wrong after being told THREE TIMES what it was. Unacceptable. I don’t care how busy the night is. That’s negligent and unbefitting of the establishment, let alone the near $500 I spent in advance for AN EXPERIENCE.
To rectify the matter, the servers covered our drinks for the evening (not any of the initial $500). But honestly, that did not rectify a thing.
Respectfully, this place is not worth the money or the headache. It is BEAUTIFUL, do not get me wrong, and the view is amazing, and the food was good (not great). But for that I’d go to a museum and get a bite before. If you want good service, this is not the place for you.
