We had a nice overall experience here and I’d probably rate it around 3.5–4 stars. The ability to make a reservation and have validated parking was a huge plus. The ambiance is quaint and cozy, and I really appreciated that it wasn’t overly loud — you can actually have a conversation. The food tasted fresh, which we loved.

That said, the service was quite slow. Our reservation was at 6:00 and we didn’t receive our food until around 7:15. Granted, we didn’t order right away due to the wait for drinks (which took close to 20 minutes), and we also had to flag down our waitress to place our appetizer order.

The appetizers themselves were good but very small — the arancini came with just three small pieces and the toasted ravioli was only four pieces. The tableside Alfredo was a fun and unique experience, though I’m not sure I’d order it again. Overall, the food was okay but leaned a bit plain and under-seasoned for my taste. Having grown up in a part of the country known for incredible Italian food, I may be a tougher critic than most.

I’d consider giving it another try, but it’s not somewhere I’d rush back to.

The meatball appetizer was superb, they were so tender they fell apart.I ordered the chicken parmesan. The spaghetti was flavorless and there wasn’t any sauce to speak of, just a bunch of diced stewed tomatoes.. very plain, no flavor at all. The breading on my chicken was very hard so I had to break the pieces off the edges & set aside- because I’m not trying to break my teeth! The chicken and breading was also TOTALLY FLAVORLESS. I wouldn’t order that again. My husband had the fettuccine presented with the tableside parmesan wheel, his dinner was excellent
I loved the vibe, the service was excellent, I would definitely dine there again but would try something different next time!!

The whole vibe is absolutely astonishing! THSI was a great sit-down restaurant for families. I hope i get to go back here someday as I loved it here so much! There is limited seating at some points in time but if you get there at a good time then you get right in!

First time coming here, and our group really enjoyed it. We had a big group of 8, and they were easily able to accommodate it. The service was wonderful, and food was delicious. I usually get heavy based pasta, but I thought the shrimp scampi pasta looked delicious, and got that instead. It did not disappoint! We also got desserts, and they were good. I think it’s better than some pasta place in the area that gets more hype, we will be back! My friend also said they have a good happy hour selection!

We enjoyed celebrating our GVSU graduate with lunch today at Palio.
Everything was perfect from the moment we walked in the door , the hostess greeted us warmly and in spite of the fact that we didn’t have reservations she politely said she’d speak to the GM about accommodating us & that they did! A HUGE Thank you to the GM for getting our party of 7 seated quickly.
Now on to the service and food. Our server did a great job , very attentive and especially good to the kids in our party making sure they had refills etc..
The food was phenomenal. Calamari was so fresh! Light flaky breading. Entrees: Chicken Parmigiana, Alfredo,(kid and adult) Margherita Pizza, Spaghetti (kids) Carbonara and Chicken Marsala all spectacular.
Wine was smooth and paired well . Gelato (kids) Tiramisu were fantastic. And the complimentary Limoncello shots were a sweet unexpected finale.
Will definitely be back!

We stopped in here for a last minute anniversary dinner and are so glad that we did. Everything was fantastic and well executed. I had the bisteco espresso dish, the sirloin was a perfect medium rare and well seasoned, my husband had the mezzanine a costine corte and loved it. We also found the Tuscan soup, ceasar salad and affagotto to be excellent. I found the price of a glass of sangria at $5.95 to be a steal, also while the prices aren’t cheap I found them to be reasonable compared to other places. I also heard a server discussing GF options and asking about cross contamination needs with another table. Ignore a few negative reviews here, a few are just very nitpicky and I suspect these people are just never happy. We’ll be back again when in the area.

Absolutely amazing restaurant! I have never been to a Michelin star restaurant, but I must say I felt like this would be it here. The food was well presented and flavorful. Everything was served in good timing, and the service was splendid. I could not believe how fresh the food was for the prices! I was expecting to pay quite more for this dining experience. Daniel was our server, and he was so down to earth and helpful. They have a tablet that allows you to see pictures of the dishes so you know what you are getting. I was told that it is busy mostly on Friday nights and Saturdays, so go during the week or Sunday for lunch. We were there with one other table, saw mostly carry outs. You must try the tableside fettuccine alfredo, which is tossed inside a wheel of parmigiano reggiano. You are allowed a sample, which is imported from Italy. Almost everything is locally sourced and made in the kitchen. We were also given a shot of limencello vodka at the end, complimentary. Desserts were amazing! I will be back when Im in town. Park at the Hyatt lot, and they do validate. Compliments to the chef!

We have been to Palio often. Unsure if it’s a Management issue or what, but the Restaurant seems to fall apart when they’re busy. We arrived a little after 7pm Saturday evening and were immediately seated and it already felt “off”. 14 mins/30 seconds later, our Server came to our table for the first time. She was very sweet and apologetic for the delay in getting to our table. We ended up ordering drinks/soup/salad and entrees all at the same time. Not more than 5 minutes later, my Lasagna and my Husbands Soup was brought out. The man in the tie was rushed and quickly left our table. My Husband and I looked at each other, thankful that we received some food so quickly, but was wondering if my salad and his entree were going to come out. Later our Server stops by to see how things are and notices my Husband doesn’t have his Entree. She apologizes and a few minutes later she came with his Entree and my Salad. Food there is always great, but we’ll be taking a break from going to Palio for a while. When we do go again, we’ll be sure it’s just during the week now as this wasn’t the first time we’ve had issues there on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday.
