My kids decided they wanted to try the newly renovated restaurant. We was able to sit right away, ordered drinks. Kids had to use the restroom, within minutes they was all back saying they wasn’t using those things. Apparently they stank really bad. And the men’s room was a mess.. ordered Chips n queso while waiting on food… Queso tasted like out of a store bought jar. My oldest two ordered the 8/10oz sirloin and myself and youngest ordered their tenders entrees. The steaks was on point. Perfectly cooked and seasoned. The tenders on the other hand was beyond chewy. It was a little bit of a struggle trying to eat them, but that could also have been because I sat for approx 25/30 min. Without getting a refill or checked on. So this place is getting the 2 stars based on the cooks ability to season and perfectly cook the steaks.

We recently had dinner at the Highlander on a Friday evening. We ate in the dining room and didn’t visit the bar, which is in an adjoining but separate area with a separate entrance. This review is relevant only to the restaurant experience.

We were a party of four adults and three kids.

The menu offers a reasonable selection of pretty standard American items, nothing unusual or exotic. Prices are modest.

I ordered the Ruben and onion rings, my wife ordered the French dip sandwich and broccoli casserole.

My dinner was satisfactory, about what I would expect to find in any similar venue. The sandwich was good, the onion rings we’re the pre-made frozen variety.

My wife’s sandwich was below expectations. The meat was dry, leather-like in color and texture and tasteless. She found the broccoli casserole mediocre at best.

The kids’ spaghetti meals were very generous portions and the kids enjoyed them.

Service was courteous and friendly, our server got everything right and was adequately prompt but not particularly attentive after the food was served. She did however, bring the check promptly and process payment more quickly than many. Overall, pretty good service.

The atmosphere is uninprssive, a large room with simple utilitarian decor. The ceiling has no sound absorbing material and the floor is bare concrete, contributing to an extremely harsh acoustic character and very high noise level. About half of the tables were empty and there is no television, yet there was so much noise that conversation was difficult.

The facility appears to be handicapped accessable, however the crushed stone parking lot may be an issue for some wheelchair users.

Reservations are not necessary. Flexible table arrangement facilitates accommodation of groups.

Cash, credit and debit cards accepted.

I have been around steaks my whole life and when i say they made this medium rare steak perfect i mean they made it right hand to god so damn perfect i almost cried. Also they didnt say a word about my unmarked service dog so a huge shout out appreciation to that. Its just too damn hot to be makin him wear the vest.

Was in the bar part and enjoyed it very much. Great waitress. Good food. Excellent entertainment – live music. Best of all it was a calm atmosphere to just enjoy your food, drinks, and music.

Eaten here a couple of times and no disappointments. The chef knows their stuff. Some of the best steaks I’ve had in a long time.
