First time here. There were five of us and part of an after work dinner. I had the brick and not was very good! All the food was good and portions were good as well.

I ordered take out. Beware, their online menu prices haven’t been updated. When I told the waitress about it, she was very indifferent and dismissive. I would of tipped, but since their prices on the menu are higher than on the website, I couldn’t because I only brought 40$ cash with me. Anyway, the steak was cooked right and the sauce was tasty, but the meat itself definitely wasn’t quality. Their scalloped potatoes are delicious, but the portion is tiny.

Dined her many times years ago when I worked nearby, it’s been over 20 yrs. It was excellent then, and still is now! Some of the best Italian food you can have. Everything we had was excellent… fresh & full of flavor. It’s a bit out of the way for some, but so worth the trip. I live in Florida and have had many grouper meals, the potato crusted grouper here is ! The best I ever had. My wife had a chicken dish with pasta that was the bomb. My buddy had the pork chop that was tender and tasty. If you’re looking for a quite atmosphere with great cocktails and fantastic food, you need to make plans to drive to Hibernia Inn ( approximately 3 miles off the Hibernia/Rockaway exit off of Rt 80). This is family owned for many years and they keep bringing a excellent dinning experience. Wish they were in my home town in Florida

Love love love this restaurant Luzzi’s Hibernia Inn. The entire staff are always so friendly, welcoming & more than accommodating each and every time I visit this restaurant. it is my most favorite restaurant in New Jersey honestly. The owner, Dr. Dan Dandy is amazing, he special ordered softshell crab so we could enjoy it last evening. It was fabulously delicious like it is each and every season I go there for softshell crab . The pasta dishes are amazing too!! Their cocktails are done with style and the best cosmopolitans ever
Their crème brûlée is the best I’ve ever had. The cappuccinos ☕️ are done perfectly.
Christina was our waitress, a sweet young lady, with charm and provided us with the most perfect dining experience. The atmosphere is very relaxing and peaceful, great parking and they don’t charge the 4% credit card fee when you dine there.

Hibernia Inn happens to be within walking distance from my home, and we feel really lucky to have such a quality restaurant so close by. It’s consistently good, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming with true Italian heritage, and the food honestly comes very close to my nonna’s cooking.

Delicious Italian food! We loved everything we got and had plenty of pasta leftovers for lunch the next day. Would recommend the penne vodka!

I have eaten at this restaurant several times and the food and service were always good however last night was the exception. We started by ordering a cocktail at the bar. After 10 minutes and no cocktail, I asked the bartender if she had forgotten and she replied – “no I don’t have the right glasses, they are being washed”. About 10 minutes later we saw her making the drinks on the other side of the bar. The drinks sat there and then I asked – are those our drinks? She replied – oh yes and then gave the drinks to us. So not a good start. We were then seated 30 minutes past our reservation time. We then sat for 10 minutes without menus. We flagged down a server to ask for menus and she got them for us but informed us she was not our server. Our server appeared 10 minutes later and we mentioned that we were missing forks. She looked at us very puzzled and said ” You have forks – I see them”. We had to explain to her that we should have 2 forks – one for the entrée and one for the salad or appetizer. Our dinner was not served to us until 9PM and we had a 7:30 reservation. The food was outstanding. The bill was over $300 and I was very upset with our entire experience so I asked to speak to the manager who had left. She did take $30 off the bill but then our not so friendly bartender put the entire bill on one credit card although we had given her 2 cards so more waiting while she fixed that. I said thank you to her as I left and she did not answer. I remarked to my friend that she didn’t answer and the bartender yelled out loudly “Your Welcome” in a nasty nasty tone. From beginning to end this dining experience was so stressful. I do not go out to dinner to get stressed out. It’s really a shame because the food was excellent. I know the restaurant was crowded but to be treated with such disrespect was really awful. Some common courtesy would have been nice. I would not recommend this restaurant for that reason.

Staff needs to be a little more accommodating. We arrived 6 minutes early and was told….why are we here so early.
