Loved visiting today right at 11:15. Very attentive and welcoming staff. The food came out in a reasonable time. The specials were amazing. The price was great, and we enjoyed our time here. The salads came out with a perfect amount of dressing, and both side salads came out before the rest of the entree. The portions were very large and we could not finish our meal. Overall, very satisfied with The Hawthorne Inn!

The best American restaurant I have visited so far. The meals were extraordinary, and the cocktail menu was selective yet outstanding. The atmosphere is charming, with a warm country-style setting and excellent service. Many people travel from afar just to enjoy a meal at this amazing place. If you miss it, you’re truly missing out. The surrounding scenery and the route through the woods make the experience even more enjoyable.

We made the 40+ minute drive to Labadie to try The Hawthorne Inn, and it absolutely lived up to the legend. This place is special.
From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel like family. They were warm, welcoming, and genuinely happy to have you there.
We started with the Spinach & Artichoke Dip and the Fried Calamari, and both were fantastic. The dip was rich and flavorful, and the calamari was perfectly cooked and tender.
I had the Chicken Christine, which was absolutely amazing. The sauce, mushrooms, broccoli, and melted cheese all came together perfectly. One of the best chicken dishes I have had in a long time.
The house salad deserves its own mention. It was one of the best I have ever had, and the crouton bread they serve with it is like nothing I have ever had before.
A friend ordered the Seafood Stuffed Mahi, and we shared a few bites along with the pasta side. Incredible flavor and beautifully prepared.
Great food, generous portions, a cozy atmosphere, and truly wonderful people.
The Hawthorne Inn is a gem in Labadie and absolutely worth the drive. We cannot wait to come back.

The food here is amazing! Everything was fantastic. The flash fried spinach and the bruschetta was outstanding, but all of the other apps looked equally appetizing! The entrees were presented well, and full of flavor. Pricing is fair. You get what you pay for, and the food here competes with any of the fine restaurants in the area! They have a lunch menu, and a dinner menu. Lunch menu is a little cheaper, with a few differences. There wasn’t a plate we watched served to all the other guests, that didn’t look as good or better than what we had! It all looked amazing. They move customers in and out pretty quickly. It’s advised to get reservations here, but they only reserve about 20% of their restaurant, leaving 80% for first come first serve. There’s a bar where you can wait. The drinks were equally good! We are absolutely coming back!

This is a great place to slow down and grab a nice meal that comes with a charming back road drive. It’s nice to get the family and take a nice little 15 minute drive outside of town to sit down for what is always a good meal. The service makes you feel like family. The food is quality with a good variety and the drink selection has something for everyone. From a nice Sunday lunch or satisfying evening dinner this always will hit the spot. Very charming location and seasonally has great decor.

Nathan and I celebrated our wedding anniversary with a visit to The Hawthorne Inn, a charming restaurant in Labadie that’s been a local favorite since 1994. Just a scenic 20-minute drive over the hills and through the woods from Wildwood, this place is perfect for a memorable meal. This gem is known for its delicious dinners, but we were thrilled to discover their extensive lunch offerings too!
I enjoyed the Seafood Stuffed Mahi while Nathan had the Chicken Christine—both were incredible! If you haven’t been to The Hawthorne Inn yet, it’s definitely worth a visit. Treat yourself to some amazing food and a cozy atmosphere!

Hawthorn inn has become I bit of a regular for me lately. They have great staff, very friendly and accommodating always. They have great pastas, steaks, but I recently tried the salmon from here and it is PERFECT. My favorite dish by far, the Cajun cream sauce goes really well with the salmon and the onion straws on top.
I recently came here during lunch and they weren’t serving the salmon yet, I didn’t know it was only part of the dinner menu. I really only came there for the salmon that day as I had been craving it lately and when I asked my waitress when dinner was she said it was 2 hours away and I was so disappointed but she asked what it was I wanted from the dinner menu and then said it wasn’t a problem to go ahead and get the salmon I wanted! I was so happy about it, it made my night and the salmon was delicious as always!
The spinach and artichoke dip is also my go to every time I come here, it’s the best that I’ve had from anywhere really, I could eat it by itself with no chips but istead of regular chips I believe they home make their own flour chips using tortillas possibly? It’s a delicious appetizer.
I wish I could remember my waitresses name because she’s an amazing waitress every time I go here. She even gave me some extra bread and butter to take home because I mentioned I really enjoyed the bread and butter they serve with the salads.
Even when they’re busy the staff is so friendly and they treat you right. Love the food but the staff adds to my love for Hawthorne Inn. I definitely recommend it!

Delicious, as usual! For startets we like to split the Hawthorne Salad that has all the “extras” in it (ham, turkey, salami, provel, parmesan cheese, tomatoes, red onions & black olives in their house vinaigrette). We were there for lunch, so hubby got the Hawthorne Sub, which is his favorite go-to sandwich here. I got the Philly Strip Sandwich, which is so tender you don’t even need a knife, and upgraded the side to the mixed sauteed veggies, which are always so good!

Homemade deliciousness with the best service and large portions. Chris served us but everyone asked us if we needed or wanted anything. The nicest people you’d want to meet. ❤️ It’s worth every minute of your time and the drive. What an experience!

Wow this is a great place. Come visit Labadie. Make sure when you come here to the Hawthorne Inn, to make reservations or to get your name on the wait list. You’ll be waiting an hour or more when you come here during the dinner time on weekend. Some of the guest that we saw come in had an hour wait because they had a large party and some of the guest with a smaller party. Had to wait 30 to 40 minutes. We came about 4:30 PM and got our name in and we were seated by 5:00 PM. We came on a Saturday night. The wait is definitely worth it. I had the pizza which is very good. My wife had Chicken Christine. Don’t forget to hit the brewery across the street while you’re here too. I highly recommend this restaurant.
