We were in Pearisburg Friday night and grabbed take out from The Happy Hog after our usual restaurant stop was closed. They were out of one of the items we ordered, but the staff were so friendly and more than accommodating in making sure we still had a great meal.
The barbecue sandwich was amazing! Very tender, perfectly seasoned, and the grilled bun was a nice touch. The cornbread was phenomenal! It is the closest I have had to my Granny’s cornbread and comparing anything to her cooking is high praise! The peanut butter pie was also a highlight! I think we just found our new favorite restaurant stop when we pass thru Pearisburg!

Got catfish blackened sandwich and it was warm and juicy! Amazing fries and very good lemony-sweet tea. The pork rinds were still cracking on my plate!! I was lucky enough to be there live music night and the atmosphere was incredibly cozy. Jeff was a sweetheart and provided wonderful service. ♥️

Exceptional food. Everything here is homemade. Despite the name, it’s not all hogs here. Smashed burgers and chicken sandwich were great! Fries… about the best I’ve had in a good while. Deserts, again all homemade. Peanut butter cheese cake and coconut pie, both great! A smaller place with a nice atmosphere. Great friendly servers and service. Oh and the music playing is quiet tasteful as well.

Loved a Monday night dinner at the Happy Hog. I loved the pork chop dinner with collard greens and coleslaw sides. The greens were a pleasant surprise. I never knew how good they could be. We were entertained by a series of solo performers. What a great restaurant.
