I am a five star person. I like to go on and on about the places I love. But this Pete’s is awful. We’ve had three bad experiences now but tonight’s experience (12/29 at around 5:00) took the cake!
All I wanted was a margarita with dinner. They said order at the bar. I waited 20 minutes to order a margarita at the bar, checking in twice and no one came to take my order. Ten minutes later someone random came up and they rushed right out to him. And then did the same for another guest who sat down.
Then I found a hair in my food.
Go to Dos Dos or literally anywhere else to get decent service and food without hair.
And no, they weren’t busy. There were four of them behind the counter moving so slow it was crazy. I get that it’s hard to hire these days, and I worked in food service, including counter service so I get that there’s more going on behind the scenes. But there’s no excuse for a 20 minute margarita with 10 people in the building.
Will not be back.

Went here with a coworker down the street from our office and I thought it was a great fast casual mexican place! Two burrito bowls (one steak, one chicken and fajita veggies) was $23 even. Decent price and the portions were large and tasted great! The bar area looks like a good place to watch a game and there is plenty of seating inside and outside (covered). Staff was very nice and helpful when ordering. 5/5

Located in downtown Colorado Springs, Illegal Pete’s has a good menu selection with fresh ingredients made to order right in front of you. We had the veggie breakfast burrito and it didn’t disappoint. This burrito was packed full of fresh eggs and veggies along with some sour cream, corn and jalapeno. Best breakfast burrito for the price by far. Check it out for yourself.

The vibe? Elite. Great music, great people, a fun and uplifting energy every time you walk in. The food? Ridiculously good — fresh, healthy, flavorful, and always hits the spot. It’s honestly been my best restaurant experience of 2025 so far.
And the BOGO deals on Mondays and Tuesdays? Absolutely legendary. Whoever came up with that deserves a raise.

Staff were cool. The place looked pretty cool. Food was not so good. I was going to get the tri tip and I watched the person bring out a “new” pan of gray dried beef. Chicken didn’t look too good either. The other supporting ingredients were warm. Both burritos that we ordered were just overstuffed and soupy. If they can figure out their food, this place could be top tier. Good Luck

Fun atmosphere, excellent location. Fantastic food and friendly, helpful staff. Really doesn’t get much better than that! Portions were generous and pricing is phenomenal in consideration to other establishments with the same concept. I like that you get a choice of tortilla or chips with your bowl unlike others that charge you for that. Flavors were outstanding. The hot salsa is truly hot! They have options like potatoes, queso and green chili to add on for small upcharges. The fish tacos come out fresh and crisp and well worth the wait!

Came in on opening day. Sooo happy they’re finally in the springs! House margarita was great and on happy hour. My bowl was so good but I know exactly how to order it (after going a few times). The steak in my friend’s burrito was dry and chips were stale but I can’t wait to come back!

This is one of the best restaurants downtown Colorado Springs. You always get a lot of high quality healthy food for a great price. Their location has great views for watching people and the mountains. Highly recommend to come check out Illegal Pete’s! Healthcare workers get buy one get one free on Tuesdays and Military does on Mondays! Let’s keep them busy Colorado springs!

Happy hours between 3-9 is another plus!
Food was delicious, Fish is freshly fried upon placing an order.
The only place where they lost a star is when we ordered a bowl, there wasn’t enough beans in the container. The lady instead of refilling, served whatever was left. That was slightly disappointing.
Definitely recommend them.
