A nice place for a lunch or dinner. Food freahly made, no short cuts. Came out perfect. Was able to have a conversation, the place is in an old building with great architectural features. Service was spot on and friendly.

This place in Burlington is a real find! It has a cozy yet upscale vibe, making it suitable for any occasion. The menu offers classic American dishes with a modern twist, and each dish is flavorful.

I had the braised beef I can’t remember the full name, and it was perfectly cooked—smooth outside and tender inside. The cocktail selection is impressive; the Labrador Retriever I ordered was one of the best I’ve had recently.

The staff were attentive and friendly, which made for a great experience. If you’re in Burlington and want a memorable meal, The Gryphon should be on your list.

Had dinner. Interesting place, great bar was seats and a modest # of tables. Limited menu but good variety. Great cocktail list. Greta was our server, she was great. Old fashioned was delicious. The bread w maple butter is a must have. I had the burger. It was really good. Also had a side salad, which made feel less guilty for the burger. Good atmosphere, good service, good food. Give Gryphon a try, strong recommend

TLDR; great gluten free options

My celiac friend and I were in town and stopped by The Gryphon based on some reviews we saw about their gluten free options and we were not disappointed. Although they do not have a dedicated gluten-free menu, most of their menu items are available gluten-free. We also confirmed with the bartender that they use a completely separate fryer for things like french fries which my celiac friend loves!

We sat at the bar and I ordered an Apperal spritz. Our bartender was very personable without being overly attentive, even though we arrived pretty much right after they were opening. My drink was delicious, and the staff were very accommodating to some of our more interesting requests.

We ordered the bread and maple butter with gluten-free bread. As someone who can eat, gluten, this was definitely one of the better gluten-free breads I’ve ever had. It was crispy and toasted on the outside but fluffy and soft on the inside. My celiac friend was definitely pleased with this. I ordered a burger and we got gluten-free fries because those are her favorite!

All in all, this was definitely a great experience because she was not sick after which means these were celiac friendly gluten-free not just gluten intolerant gluten-free. If you don’t know the difference, that’s OK! If you have a friend who is celiac, this is a safe and delicious option.

Had a nice (Canadian) Thanksgiving dinner with the family here tonight. The food and portion size were quite stunning !

Started out with the Vinyard Chowder, and it was fabulous. Delicate seafood flavor with loads of seafood in there. Definitely recommend.

For main, can’t go wrong with big rib eye. The thickness of the steak was beyond my amazement. Worth every penny!

For the end, I had a delicate chocolate mouse. It wasn’t overly sweet, which is key in this type of dish.

All in all, I would be back here when in the area!

I came here on a Wednesday evening around 630pm without a reservation. I was seated right away and the server was very cordial. I ordered the Tokki drink, Caesar salad, and the Prime Rib with a side of fries. The salad was a bit vinegary for my taste but the dressing was light and refreshing. I enjoyed everything I ordered and will consider coming here again in the future.

Wonderful service. We got invited in by the owner and hostess. They treated us well and the food was really good. I got the gumbo and it was pretty for Vermont and I love going to New Orleans. Im glad we stopped by.

Wonderful seafood chowder. Huge portions. Started with vineyard chowder, which was stellar. Then had the duck quesadilla and sweet potato nachos. The duck quesadilla was great, and the nachos were interesting (I am too used to corn chips, so found the texture odd) and different (not in a bad way, just not in a nachos way). For mains we had the Gryphon Burger and the Petit Fillet (both were good, but brussel sprouts should never be the chef’s choice vegetables). Finally ended with sundaes which were fine but nothing special.
Overall a very good meal, though the bill coming with 20, 21, and 22% tip options was off putting, especially since Vermont is sensible enough not to have the terrible federally mandated $2.13 an hour wage (if you want to list tip options, at least stick with the more traditional 10, 15, 20%).

Amazing food, great atmosphere.
We had a dinner special crab rolled in a fish with couscous that was completely amazing, the kids got fresh made linguine with cheese. No doubt we will be back again.
Thank you!
